If you could remove all desire to be with women, or men sexually or emotionally would you do it?Sometimes I think I would really enjoy a life of research and exploration on my own if I didn't have the want for a partner. I believe there's plenty of awesome opportunities that I might miss out on due to a relationship. But I also believe there are many other amazing opportunities to be happy and fulfilled with a partner. Having someone emotionally/romantically in your life causes for a lot of self reflection and growth. Being alone is great, and sometimes I think my attraction to others (rom… | /r/PurplePillDebate | 24/01/19 04:07 AM
Q4All: Should Marriage even be a thing?I can't really contribute to the conversation but I will recommend the Monogamy episode of the Netflix series Explained. It explains the basic concepts of old and modern marriages and what purpose they serve, because it's obviously not all about the romance or connection. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 14/12/18 01:52 PM
Why are women not able to consent to sex when drunk but are able to when driving? There still are women in the world who put pressures like that on men. And even if I don't think this needs to be the forefront of feminism, I think it should at least be involved more in it. At the end of the day I see feminism as achieving gender equality and that means helping men and women who face sexism. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 02/12/18 10:16 PM
Why are women not able to consent to sex when drunk but are able to when driving?I mean I absolutely agree that we need resources for women to reach out for help. And we have done an okay job at giving female rape victims a voice even if it falls on deaf ears. But I do think feminism needs to focus just a tad more on things like the underreporting of male rape and it's causes. Causes like the fact that men aren't encouraged as much as women to express their feelings, cry, show weakness, etc. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 02/12/18 09:06 PM
Why are women not able to consent to sex when drunk but are able to when driving?I completely understand where you are coming from. After all, the harsh standards for men were first implemented by the patriarchy itself. Women are often expected be a healers of a society that men ruined. However, we have to admit that we don't give a lot of space for men to show their emotions and feelings. Even if the harsh standards for men were implemented by other men, these standards are from centuries ago and we shouldn't be punishing innocent men for the crimes of bad ones. There are p… | /r/PurplePillDebate | 02/12/18 08:56 PM
Why are women not able to consent to sex when drunk but are able to when driving?I disagree that the standard that drunk people (incapacitated drunk) cannot consent is a minority perspective. It's not a universally accepted standard, but I don't think it's the minority. I think there are a huge amount of people who believe that drunk people cannot consent. But a lot of lawmakers (at least in the US) are a bit conservative compared to the all lot of the citizens. To clear up confusion real quick- let me quantify. For the sake of this conversation, my definition of too drunk t… | /r/PurplePillDebate | 02/12/18 08:25 PM
Why are women not able to consent to sex when drunk but are able to when driving?I think that there is a small part of feminism that doesn't focus as much on making resources for men. There are those counseling centers and resources for rape victims but they are advertised and geared towards women. Although those centers obviously would help men too, I think as a society there's still quite a bit of pressure on men to never show they are hurt. Specifically in sexual assault cases. However, after stating all that, I think it's super important for us to realize that these cent… | /r/PurplePillDebate | 02/12/18 06:57 PM
Why are women not able to consent to sex when drunk but are able to when driving? If a drunk person wants to drive, they are deciding to commit a crime/hypothetically hurt themselves. If a drunk person says yes to sex, and another person has sex with them, then that person decides to commit a crime and hurt someone else. I think this is an important distinction. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 02/12/18 06:42 PM
Has anyone here ever heard a woman be told "you need to learn to respect men"?I would argue just the opposite. I frequently notice men get flustered, confused or sometimes angry when they are not immediately treated with respect they didn't earn. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 26/11/18 05:00 AM

Has anyone here ever heard a woman be told "you need to learn to respect men"?Oh I was totally taught to fear men. Growing up watching the news definitely effected me. I saw countless reports of men raping women in the park, husbands beating their wives, men killing women for denying them a date or sex. I grew up about 10 minutes away from Ariel Castros house where he kept those women for 10+ years. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 13/11/18 11:26 PM
Has anyone here ever heard a woman be told "you need to learn to respect men"?I've never been told to learn to respect men in those exact words. But that's also because growing up as a girl, I was taught to respect men automatically. And not just to respect- but to fear men and their abilities, power, etc. Men were figures of authority. Although I have heard people tell others to learn to respect women, I think that is because a lot of people aren't taught to automatically respect women in the first place. | /r/PurplePillDebate | 13/11/18 11:20 PM
