This double standard infuriates meThanks for the info. The impression I got from what he said is that the recovery is long and extremely painful compared to as a baby. However, we hadn't discussed this factor of the initial pain. Also, my brief research indicates the recovery may not be as intense as he described. Bascially, thanks for the details. I'll bring them up. :) Poor little baby boys. That sounds awful. It's disturbing to realize that it's mostly the fact that we can't remember our experiences as infants that make peopl… | /r/MensRights | 01/02/17 03:44 AM
This double standard infuriates meI believe it's phimosis, though I'm not entirely sure, as he has done most of the research on the topic. I just looked it up and you're right that there do seem to be other things to try first. I'll have to ask him about that. And yes, you are certainly right about the gall bladder idea. I think his point was more that he wouldn't have this issue if he had been circumsized and that the pain and recovery of going through it as an adult is extreme. I realize that I am under the impression the bein… | /r/MensRights | 01/02/17 03:26 AM
This double standard infuriates meLady here. Just want to say you are totally right and that this attitude is a double standard. One additional factor to consider is that sometimes men do find they have medical conditions when they get older that are caused by the foreskin, and the only solution is to get circumsized. My husband is actually facing this right now and does wish that he had been circumsized as a child. The prospect of facing it as an adult is well...dreadful. I know that this is only one example, but I thought it w… | /r/MensRights | 01/02/17 02:54 AM
I made a poster on gender symmetry in domestic violence: "A Woman Can Do Anything a Man Can Do"Hi, self-proclaimed feminist here! I just want to say that I think your poster campaign is a fantastic idea. I love the equality-focused nature of it. Go you! I also did want to say that, while there a lots of horrible feminists out there, there are also lots of us who would never say that only men are capable of violence and other awful things. Please know that we exist and are happy to work with you guys towards a more equal future. :) | /r/MensRights | 07/05/15 05:17 PM
A girl at my college posted this on Facebook. She got several comments that agreed, all from other women.Thank you for pointing that out. :) In the hopes that it brightens your day, please know that I am one more woman who is happy to read this post and understands all that it means. I knew a guy in college who was falsely accused, and it was a very traumatic experience for him. We were all really worried about how it would affect his college career and life. Fortunately, it turned out ok for him. | /r/MensRights | 26/04/13 02:43 AM
Wise words from a woman on feminismYou don't sound like a misogynist at all to me. I can certainly imagine that some women have done awful things to you. And I am sorry about that. I'm glad you've had strong friends and role models to influence you. I've seen great people and horrible people of all genders/persuasions. I just stick with the awesome people and pretend the rest don't exist. If you ever want to probe the strange brain of a friendly feminist, I'm game. :) | /r/MensRights | 13/02/13 04:55 AM
Wise words from a woman on feminismHi. I feel you completely; I've known some crazy man-haters in my life. However, I've known far more awesome, chill, good people who are happy to call themselves feminists. It's no big deal, no title of honor, just a non-chalant "Yea I'm a feminist; genders should be equal." So... Hi. Now you've met one non-crazy Feminist. I'd like to think we could be friends. Have a great day! :) | /r/MensRights | 13/02/13 04:15 AM
Air Force Mamas Photographed Breastfeeding In Uniform Called A “Disgrace” - What, soldiers aren’t supposed to have boobs (or babies)? Soldiers aren’t supposed to appear nurturing? Echegoyen-McCabe told MSNBC, “There isn’t a policy saying we can or cannot breast-feed in uniform. The men's rights issue isn't terribly obvious, I agree, but I think the idea is that the majority of soldiers are men and apparently soldiers should not appear nuturing or anything other than their tough and mean stereotypes, even when off duty - that they should go to enormous lengths to preserve that masculine toughguy identity, no matter their gender or the inconvenience it causes. | /r/MensRights | 13/10/12 02:19 PM
