Oh pu-leeze...... Like the religious population don't have their fair share of shenanigans. Being (marginally) catholic and had plenty exposure to evangelicals, you guys are doing God a huge disservice to the faith. And the numbers show.

Really? They both could be losers for all we know. Also, ppl tend to be on best behavior in the beginning. It's only down the line you discover who they really are, especially when you are locked in with rings on each other's fingers. The person you divorce can be quite different than the one you marry.

From first-hand experience, the divorce process is gratuitously hostile, and everyone (lawyers, courts,...) feeds into it. You would think by now everyone is aware of the stories or endured it themselves. I marvel that marriage is still a thing (though certainly on the decline) and our law makers have done nothing to save it.

i could definitely be a target to a woman who wanted to cash in. Whoa, that's your company? All this property is yours? (Drive up windy forest-lined driveway to top of hill...... house presents itself... the views....) That's your house?? Cha-ching...... Yea, no. Considering the carnage I've endured in divorce after 20 years in marriage, I'm sooo done. Also the thought of getting baby-trapped or someone wanting to move in, especially with kids, totally terrifies me.

Man, I thought using hot sauce was a joke. Then someone posted not long ago (forget which sub) that his gf got it out of the garbage. Ended up in the ER with her croch on fire. Luls all around......

I almost lost my lunch when my divorce attorney told me about clients who've been "around the block" a few times. Like frequent fliers. Unbelievable. If i go to my grave without getting into another relationship, I'll die a happy man.

Hijacking top comment to mention if you secretly record someone in a "dual consent" state, the recording would not be accepted as evidence. He would still be screwed.

This. Once they are married, half is hers automatically (in a "community property" state anyway). I had a house/mortgage prior to marriage. Didn't count for shit. Maybe transfer the funds as a loan with a 30 year balloon payment at $30,001 (or, hell, at 3% interest) that you forgive through your estate if they make it that far.

My mother never had anything good to say about my father. The man worked his ass off. Did well. Sweet guy. He died at 88 after 56 years of marriage. Never had a bad thing to say about mom. Always said "i'll never do anything to hurt her". My ex-MIL never missed an opportunity to take a pot shot at my ex-FIL. I saw the trend repeat itself in my marriage. Fuck that. But how do people breed to continue the population? Some perspective for you..... 1830 - world population hits 1 billion 1927 - 2 billion 1974 - 4 billion 2020 - 7.8 billion 2050 - 10 billion (est) We have nothing to worry about. At least when it comes to running out of people. Now feeding all those people and all the pollution we generate, that's another story. No. Which surprised me. Religion is huge in her family. Uber-Catholics. My filing allows her to play the victim card. Throughout the whole process if she said "i'm sorry" or "can we talk", i would have pulled the plug. But no. She wanted out as bad as i did. She just didnt want to deal with the shame of divorce on her hands. Me personally, IDGAF. The family unit was suffering hugely. Someone had to make the executive decision. It fell to me.

I was horrified to learn that divorce court is a gratuitously hostile environment meant to extract as much money out of the people involved as possible. My MIL was the same too. Never missed a opportunity to diss my FIL. That added to my decision to be part of the 20% where it is the husband who files for divorce. The reasoning throughout the years was that "it's cheaper to keep her" is prob why women are more likely to file. I highly suspect that trend is in the process of changing.

Holy cow, I've been pondering that for awhile now. According to some sources, the world population hit one billion around 1800*. Here we are 200 years later and we are over 7 billion. dates and numbers seem to vary a bit depending on source, so I'm not presenting it as absolute fact. World population and the resources to support that (food, power, transportation,...) certainly must have some effect on climate change along with all the other suspects.

While this article by his 3rd (and final) wife focuses on LBD, there are certainly other factors in play that led to his inability to cope and, ultimately, suicide. Divorce-rape is high among the those factors. This article does not address that aspect at all. The "females in his life" were not addressed or exonerated. Good try.

As for your situation, perhaps it may be better to give your kids a phone on your plan. I'd still install Life360 for safety. Maybe shut off the "mommy phones" while they are with you. I marvel that in this day and age we have to consider this sort of thing. Geez, why so salty Kefflin? When you are the only one initiating things, you gotta get creative. Take a deep breath. Make peace with your situation and let it go. It took a few years to get my ex to go to marriage counseling. And then she talked mostly about the kids and the issues she had with them. Rarely talked about our (lack of) relationship. And when she did it ended up being a battle. She was very much "her way or the highway". Very strict. Very religious. MC was viewed as a shameful endeavour. Very phobic about anything that people might judge her on. After 20 years of dicey marriage (I'm 55), coming home to an "empty house" for the last few years is wonderful. I no longer dread coming home to a tense/hostile house. And, honestly, it's not an empty house. My 20-something kids come and go at their leisure. I have my dog and 2 cats sitting with me right now on my front porch while I read my newspaper and drink my coffee. What's not to like about that?

Rape allegations are a criminal offence. Defamation is civil. She can destroy a dude with taxpayers paying the legal bill. With defamation, the dude has to pay. Who's got the time, money and energy for that? And there's no guarantee the dude will win anything of significance to make it worth the effort. Edit: and the dude is probably already financially and emotionally destroyed from having to defend himself from the rape trial.

I was thinking about the emotional/financial fallout due to divorce. I didn't think about the actual "rate". Considering gay marriage is a relatively new thing (and a 2% rate is encouraging), it'll be awhile before the numbers start creeping up. I can't imagine we will see a rate similar to hetro's.

There's gay divorce now. I can't imagine it any better than straight divorce. On the bright side, no one can get "baby trapped" in a gay relationship.

"I'm miserable, you are miserable, the kids (teenagers at the time) are miserable, our son is literally suicidal. It's time to put an end to this" And I handed her the papers. To this day I'm surprised she didn't file first but I think her and her family's uber-religiousness had something to do with that. Me filing absolved her of committing that "sin". After that I made sure it was radio silence. Didn't want to add more fuel to her BPD rage. I didn't quibble over any of the details. I made thin…

Harsh bro. An executive decision had to be made. It's only a house. Look at the bigger picture. If it expedited the divorce process, let it go. At the end of the day it's only money. You/me/all of us can always make more. The toxic people in our lives cost more than we realize.

Precisely. If she has half a brain (which is doubtful), cash that sucker in. Unless she has the inclination and cash flow, there's no point in keeping it. ("I" managed to keep "the house". Can't wait till the kids are on their own so I can get rid of it. Cha-ching biatch)

Yup. Non-consentual sex=rape. Think coercion. Like someone who could/would make your life miserable if you didn't go through with it. Say, um, my rage-a-holic ex-wife. Or any psycho chick. While a woman claiming rape could get you thrown in jail, a dude claiming rape would get laughed out of the courtroom. "Equal Rights" is a joke.

Supposedly Columbia (or local governments) aren't allowing our DEA to spray fields any more. Only since 2016, due to local farmers starting to side with rebel groups instead of their government. Expect a tsunami of coke shortly.

I've always wondered about that in myself over the years. I look around and see maybe .01% of women appealing enough to fuck. I guess i was MGTOW long before the term existed and only recently discovered it. All the drama my friends went through with their relationships certainly contributed as well.

From what I've gleaned in recent years, it seems that any non-concentual sex can be viewed as rape. I.e. male subordinate/aggressive female superior. Or, say, relenting with a hostile/BPD wife just to keep the peace at home. Lets also not forget, male rape is way under-reported.

Having witnesses is key. As many as possible. Reminds me of the time when the sex scandals in the Catholic Church really hit. Anyone who works with kids had to go through the "Protecting God's Children" program. The gist of it was never be alone with a kid. Sadly, it seems we can add women to that too.

My daughter is epic. Works her ass off. My ex used to complain about her preferring guy friends. Daughter does have girl friends but says she has nothing in common with most of them. Interesting looking at that from a MGTOW perspective.

Goddamn that pisses me off. A buddy of mine hasn't seen his kids in over 10 years. His ex is a world class cunt. Recently move the kids out of state without approval. My buddy gave up fighting. My greatest hope is that the kids realize the moms modus operandi and reach out to him before he's on his deathbed. He's tried contacting them. The mom is that controlling. Or that successful poisoning them against him. EDIT: I'm marveling how this post is being up and down voted since the original post. …

After filing for divorce on a 20 year marriage, I have great appreciation for the men who are suicidal. I was there too. It truly is that ugly. Being "a man of a certain age" (51 at the time), my family's business, assets and life work were in my name, thus become marital assets. I got screwed royally by my ex who came into the marriage with literally nothing. But bottom line, I pulled the plug before my (certifiably) suicidal son succeeded in offing himself.
