Maybe There's A Positive Future For Men Not So Far AwayI'm going to say it a million times. Focusing on one subject at a time just plays into the hands of the establishment. Focus on the problem & situation broadly and it's harder to refute it with all their statistics and supposedly legit studies. But that being said, we all are playing different roles in this, so how you chose to help is up to you. There's a super defeatist attitude in this sub and it doesn't need to be that way | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 28/08/23 07:42 PM
Maybe There's A Positive Future For Men Not So Far AwayNo, this is the way intelligent people have conversations when we want to actually get things done. OP put together a great list of youtube videos, none of which I have seen. That's a huge service to me that I am grateful for and I wish there was more of this here. | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 28/08/23 07:38 PM
Maybe There's A Positive Future For Men Not So Far AwayYo I just saw this, I've posted ridiculously long things here before For example Keep doing what you're doing, we need positive energy. Thanks for the shout-out, I'm the parade guy. I am on board 100% for making content. I'm looking to get into politics & I'm going to try to pull the left-wing party towards the center. Big goals but someone's gotta do it. I'll check out the youtube videos, but yes, it's our turn to talk right now. | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 28/08/23 07:33 PM
Hey friends! I have a question in the matter of EQ and the male homeless/education problemsBe careful with these studies, it's far too easy to decide what conclusion you want and then design your study to confirm what you already believe. That's true of everyone. What's actually true for you is your own truth, which is what you've got in your heart. | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 27/08/23 03:06 PM
Hey friends! I have a question in the matter of EQ and the male homeless/education problemsI question whether you need an analytical answer. A lot has changed in the last 15 years. In the '60s and '70s the right wing was overly analytical & the left was able to make change by being subjective, expressive, and talking about the feelings of the body. They got the upper hand (and rightly so) by making it about human experience. At this point, it's the left that has become overly analytic. Maybe the best counter to someone making statements about this is a very well-made artwork. The symb… | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 27/08/23 03:03 PM
Hey friends! I have a question in the matter of EQ and the male homeless/education problemsI say this genuinely: be very careful about getting pulled deep into your own hatred though. Internet culture and gender politics are like drugs, once you start down the rabbit-hole it keeps pulling you in further. If you can process this teacher being overtly sexist without getting pulled into sexism yourself, that's you actually coming out on top. I don't think it's easily done. But be careful... once you internalize anger it's very very hard to get out of that mindset. If you come to a fork i… | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 27/08/23 02:49 PM
Hey friends! I have a question in the matter of EQ and the male homeless/education problems"the reason you(men) fail in society is bec you are born like that" Wow, that's a remarkably sexist statement | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 27/08/23 01:33 PM

Recent changes in moderation and information for usersAre we no longer allowed to just bask in the middle and take things as they are? The issue is that there's no longer any middle to bask in. You sound like you're maybe interested in rebuilding the center starting from the Right? My goal is to participate in left-wing politics in order to re-establish better, clearer center-left positions. We would be good allies. | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 23/08/23 05:18 PM
"Woke" and its relationship with Christian moralityBut that's just like saying that people who don't call themselves Christian are still Christians anyways if they are good people. Appropriating other people's good nature to add numbers to their cause. What's the relationship between the people who call themselves woke, and the people that those groups deem to be woke? Are there two different kinds of wokeness? I don't like this "them they're woke too they just don't realize it", again it just sounds like rebranded Christian morality. | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 23/08/23 04:41 PM
"Woke" and its relationship with Christian moralityThe film was a critical and commercial failure. This sounds like my type of movie | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 23/08/23 03:56 PM
"Woke" and its relationship with Christian moralityYes, but why do they call it "woke" and why does it come with an attitude of superiority? Does that mean that anyone who isn't woke must be misinformed? Woke people think they're here to rescue the rest of us | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 23/08/23 03:55 PM
"Woke" and its relationship with Christian moralityI'm talking about the word's etymology. The metaphorical, symbolic meaning of the word itself. The meaning that the word has taken on through popular usage and its integration into the language. Wokeness has a connotation of someone who has awoken to the world, who has a newfound awareness of things, someone who has seen the light, and indeed, part of that is being someone who is better-informed (about how the establishment exploits people or whatever other topic is at hand). That's why you hear… | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 22/08/23 11:02 PM
Follow-up: Last week I marched in Montreal's PRIDE parade with a sign saying "Men just need our voices heard"(I'm OP, different username) No - I don't think it's in contrast, I think that men's advocacy at its best is complementary to and partially overlapping with LGBT advocacy and that there's a lot to be learned from the friction there. I think it would helpful if there was healthier space for mens' issues within "rainbow flag" culture, or at least a better relationship with feminism, because that is where so much of contemporary culture is happening and men are left out. I realize that's a hard ask… | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 22/08/23 10:16 PM
Sabine Hossenfelder, probably the most famous female science communicator makes a video about the mental health crisis - teenage girls most affected, boys not mentionedThis sounds like a great cause for a letter-writing campaign | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 22/08/23 04:05 PM
