I understood what he was trying to say, but thank you. I didn't think it would be necessary to explain that, by stating I'm not attracted to hot men with the "God's gift" attitude, I said the exact same thing. We weren't talking about choices. We were talking about how people (specifically women) define cute and hot and how they react to those specific definitions. I wasn't commenting about how I choose to view and react to those terms, I commented about how I do view and react to those terms, which is why maronics's comment is ridiculous: it would appear he's telling me that I'm wrong about how I feel about things.

It's a stated assumption that women don't have the ability to critically and accurately categorize their reactions, conscious or subconscious, to their environment, and that's bullshit. I guess I assumed since OP referred to hot women as sexual objects that it was an expression of his willingness to sleep with them (just not emotionally connect), which is why I brought up the distinction. my bad if I misinterpreted?

yep. first typing I actually said "pretty much the same," but I guess the difference, and reason for revision, is hot guys still aren't sexual objects to me. I don't fantasize about them. I just appreciate them as being nice to look at.

I don't sleep with guys I find "hot."
