If you go to the police station with a black eye you shouldn't be shamed for being beat up. You also don't want to live in a society where if you go outside while drunk you will (or even just feel like you will) be preyed upon. No one is advocating for rape or for criminals. So before I sign any contract, as long as I'm drunk, I should have no responsibility? Next time I sign a housing lease I'll be sure to be drunk so that I can easily get out if it and claim I didn't know what I was signing. Should be up to my land lord to know I was drunk, right?
