"They might not let you into (Competitive University) if they seeing you wearing that crap" This is patently false, by the way.

Not sure how I missed that the first time.
/r/MensRights03/10/12 05:32 PM

Yes. Guy dies and they're all "lol, testicles". How the hell does one die from testicle squeezing?
/r/MensRights03/10/12 10:15 AM

...you just compared seduction to lasers.
/r/MensRights29/05/12 07:45 AM

Oh for fucks sake, are you just a bot that searches for sentences with disallowed words? Basic critical thinking would allow you to see that I am paraphrasing the thoughts of some feminists, not stating my own. Alternative theory: you realized I was paraphrasing someone else, but you decided to just bring up the question of the existence of the patriarchy all on your own, in which case you're far off topic. Alternative theory II: you are a troll from SRS whose purpose is to portray MRMs as idiot…

On the birth control and abortion stuff, I agree with the democrats on all issues of substance, but I hate their rhetoric. Framing this as a "women's (equality) issue" obscures more important points. On the more recent renewal of VAWA, I think the democrats are pushing it forward purely for political reasons, and are not receptive enough to the legitimate criticisms. Unfortunately, the republicans are criticizing it in all the wrong ways.

according to some people in this thread it's part of a shadowy plot to remove all men's testicles at once

Assuming your "they" refers to SRS, I'm sure that's true for a lot of them, but a few prominent SRS members are trans themselves. Either way, that wasn't really the main point of my comment.

I agree. If something's a positive trait in a man, it's a positive trait in a woman, or any person for that matter. The same in the other direction.
/r/MensRights18/03/12 04:45 AM

I honestly love this with one exception. The antagonist mostly spouted radical feminist bullshit (with the exception of prepending "cis" to everything, since most radical feminists hate trans people). Although the SRS brand of feminists are pro-trans, there are many feminists who would say trans people benefit from patriarchy, and certainly wouldn't ever use the word "cisprivilege".

I think all but the traditionalists among us agree that rigid gender boundaries do no one any good, and nowadays this is more of a men's issue because it disproportionately affects men. It's interesting to note that most radical feminists ("radical" denotes a specific ideological branch) hate transsexuals, with particular ire reserved for trans women (female-to-male). To both the ultra-conservatives and the rad-fems, having a penis once makes you a man forever.

I mean, I think we can say pregnancy is a women's issue. Obviously, care for the fetus (assuming we aren't talking about abortion here) is in the interests of a potential father, but I'll let this slip. Childcare should be handled neutrally (as a gay man, I feel pretty strongly about this one). Access to contraception is also pretty much a human issue.
/r/MensRights18/03/12 03:45 AM

Obviously it should be made explicit by the mother that the man she is with is indeed the father, but you'd think they could start filling out the forms on contingency that he's not a liar.

Was this person only presenting as a woman at the hospital? Based on everything in that article, I'd class Perla as a trans woman (and identity thief).

Thank you. Stupid graphics like these really make me question this movement.
/r/MensRights16/03/12 10:17 AM

I'm gay and what is this.
/r/MensRights15/03/12 01:21 AM

Ffs. Can we not downvote people asking for sources for non-obvious claims?
/r/MensRights06/03/12 12:22 PM

That's clearly problematic, but I like to think it's a separate issue.
/r/MensRights27/01/12 06:47 PM

Doesn't make it ok People are going to do bad things. The best we can hope for is that the system handles it correctly.
/r/MensRights27/01/12 04:42 PM

It looks like everything went pretty well in this case. The man was not charged, and it doesn't even look like his name made it into the press.
/r/MensRights27/01/12 03:56 PM

What? No. Theory is the opposite of practice, not science. I think you mean to compare science theory and feminist theory.

Maybe I should've mentioned the age of consent in my state is 16 so he didn't technically do anything illegal and therefore would not have been on the sex offender registry anyway. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say this was the important factor.

At risk to my precious, precious karma, I found most of the squares to have a kernel of truth to them. The writing is better than average for feminist blogs, too. She takes care to explain her points in fairly accessible language, with only a gentle spritzing of condescension. Perhaps you could bring up specific points? Discourse is nice.

To be fair, the article agrees with you.

To be fair, she didn't lie about being raped. The questions was who raped her.
/r/MensRights15/01/12 12:10 PM

Yes, but how does that feed into my shadowy conspiracy?
/r/MensRights15/01/12 02:05 AM

Yeesh. Some of those were pretty weak. Take the entry for Koran... I mean really, now.
/r/MensRights13/01/12 10:02 PM

Mrs. Claus would have gotten off scot-free for seducing a confused and immature 15 year old boy. Data to support this?

Astute.
/r/MensRights13/01/12 05:27 AM

And yet somehow I doubt the good (fictional) general would have made such a comment to a man.
/r/MensRights13/01/12 05:23 AM

Of all of the witty responses that could have been given, the (fictional) general chose a sexually demeaning one, entirely because the interviewer was a woman. EDIT: Sheesh. I've made quite the downvote magnet.

Cool. Indeed I just realized I was remembering my example somewhat backwards.
/r/MensRights11/01/12 09:08 PM

Citation on "buildup of testosterone"? I always thought it was the opposite.

but that shouldn't have mattered Indeed it shouldn't. I think it's pretty ingrained in our culture that status should not excuse bad deeds. In this case, being a coach does not excuse sexual abuse of children. And had the victim been a girl, McQueary's protect-the-children cultural training would have rightly kicked in, unabated by Sandusky's high status. But the victim wasn't a girl, so an accusation of child abuse wasn't just an accusation of abuse: it was an accusation of child sexual abuse a…

But I'm angry and people need to know.
/r/MensRights13/11/11 09:22 PM

I mean, I honestly feel like this sentence is pretty appropriate. The act was negligent (which is a determination the court makes); she's not a danger to anyone else; and she did inherently suffer for her acts. Also, you might be introducing an unseen bias by comparing sentences from the US with those from the UK. We should care more about getting reasonable sentences for men than unreasonable ones for women. Otherwise this is all just an exercise in spite.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
