Society has never expected anything of women. That's misogyny. Women are infantilised and treated as though they can't accomplish anything. So you have to do everything for them. Yeah, nobody expects them to put any effort into anything, because they assume it's beyond their tiny brains. There's really not too much difference between what some people call "misogyny" and what others call "misandry" when you look closely enough.

The problem is just that the word "feminism" has been poisoned. Too many people who were actually female supremacists called themselves "feminists", and naturally the most outrageous of any group get the most attention, so now that's what people think of when they hear the word "feminism".

I work in CS. I'll never forget the time we were interviewing candidates and one whom everyone agreed was under qualified came through.
