You'll be able to use them in many ways to make all sorts of tasty things. Unless you're stuck in some rural place, try to use fresh veggies. It doesn't take long to sautee them. The texture is so much better. Freezing the water inside of a plant cell damages the cell, hurts the texture.

Girl, you need Alton Brown. Find any dish you want to make, search to see if he has a youtube on it. After a while of this you'll be able to just throw things together. Buy your spices at costco or some other big bulk place. Spices are expensive at the regular grocery. Ethnic place might sell them for cheap too.
