And, personally, I find that just IQ not being able to have a consistent definition then there can't be a good measure of it. That is the initial problem about it. What does IQ measure? What is intelligence? If (and only if) IQ, measured by a specific test, correlates with success in life when all context variables are taken care of, then we need to specify what IQ measures, and how can we modify it. It's probably in the pages of Emotional Intelligence by Daniel Goleman and would need a little of proof reading, but for what I can remember IQ can correctly predict about 20% of the cases while Emotional Intelligence was something about 40/50%. And it kinda makes sense; IQ is not a perfect measure, starting with the problem that we don’t really know what the heck intelligence is. Sometimes that's still not very good Actually, IQ has been a pretty bad predictor of future of life success (like 20-30% of accurate prediction, but readed that like 2 years ago, so take it with a bit of care), recent studies sugest that emotional inteligence is more strongly related to life success, giving traits as "leadership" and "optimism" a lot more importance than IQ.
