According to the article, one year later she confessed to her mother. The very next day she took back the confession.

They probably can't name the parents in order to protect the identity of the child. Edit: The article stated "The girl can't be identified." They didn't name the father, either.

Like I said earlier, according to the timeline in the post, this happened when he was 18. And that was in 2002. I'm sorry that happened, op. It must have made having relationships hard for you. I hope you got the help you needed to help you move forward.

It is about ten years later, or did I miss something?

Yeah, that's a tricky one. The argument becomes whether those payments grant the other spouse part ownership, or if they are considered rent.

I'm a paralegal for an attorney who specializes in Family Law. Sure,it may be anecdotal, but it comes from expert experience. And most courts can help you fill out forms and explain the process, but they do not have attorneys who will help you unless you are in a criminal trial. They will not tell you how to argue your case, because they do not want the liability when you don't get everything you argue for. Edit: grammar.

IANAL, I only work with them. Also, I live in WA, so ymmv. In many states the income of the other parent's spouse/significant other rarely means dick to the courts in terms of the child support obligation. The only time that matters is when it comes to asking for legal fees. Your friend needs a lawyer. He adopted a child, so his support obligation will change because of that. A lawyer can figure out how to draft the worksheets. I know most of you are pretty down on the court system, but I deal w…

Honestly, I'd need to see their Parenting Plan in order to have an opinion. Many Parenting Plans have provisions that state that neither parent is allowed to disparage the other in front of the children. I can see how a blog where he vented about their mother using detailed info could be considered a violation of that provision, which then becomes a violation of the Parenting Plan. Without seeing their agreement, it's hard to say.

I added this comment to another thread on the topic, but I feel like it bears repeating: His Testament mentions that he was put in jail for hitting his four year old daughter in the face. He only acknowledged it to make the point that he believed he should not have been arrested for it, because he felt he was legally within his rights to hit his kid. I'm not one of those people who think children should never be punished, but there is a world of difference between a spanking, and striking a four…

I haven't read past the address line in your letter. IANAL, but I am a family law legal assistant. You should remove all identifying info from that letter, and then repost to this thread. Leaving your case number up is bad news bears. Edit: Spelling

There have been a couple of shows like this. I remember one called "Cock Tales" that ran in LA.
/r/MensRights19/03/11 04:53 AM

Puppetry of the Penis is two dudes on stage stretching and pulling on their penises to make them into different shapes. And occasionally making the penises "talk." The title is quite literal.

Depends on your state, but there is such a thing as a post-nuptial agreement. Lawyer up and look into it.

I had to repost, the link wasn't working. I suggest listening to the entire interview, as it is awesome, but the stuff relevant to the subject line comes at the end. I'm a lady, and I've always believe in equal rights. I work in family law as a legal assistant, so I see this stuff from both sides everyday. It can be pretty maddening.

They were initially testing to see if the compound had any kind of effect on subject, with a focus on increased empathy or sympathy. The researchers were surprised to find that it dampened sexual feelings. That's when then began testing for that specifically.

In which states does the court take a portion of the child support obligation? I know it doesn't happen in Washington (the parties also have an option of direct payment without the use of support enforcement), but knowing which states do is valuable information.

Poorly written submission. Took me reading through the comments to get at your point.

I work as a paralegal in Washington dealing primarily in family law, and my advice when it comes to that much money/debt on the table is to lawyer up if you can't agree. Because I promise the other side will.
/r/MensRights05/11/10 03:22 PM

They do now. Obama passed a bill a couple of months ago that states that lifted "family and spouse only" visiter requirements at hospitals. If the patient wants them to visit, they can visit.

I'm a woman, so it isn't an issue. Edit: For me, I mean. And while I haven't had a chance to read the linked article, I do think that if that couple had an agreement with the donor that relieved him of all parental rights and responsibilities, it is total bs to come at him for support now. It's also incredibly selfish. Who knows how many men have been put off of donating as a result of this story. Sad.
/r/MensRights20/10/10 11:44 PM

Came here to post similar. Sperm donation is a wonderful act, there is no doubt about that. While donating sperm does require a medical screening, getting eggs from a woman requires screenings, hormones, ultrasounds, psychological testing and surgery. That process is capable of netting 15 eggs at best. Neither is "more worthy," but one is more complex with a higher risk factor for the donor.

Yeah, she's a shitty person who also doesn't deserve my sympathy. I just wonder if this is really a cause worth championing, when that energy could be spent on men who don't get to see their kids enough.

We see breasts on display everyday, whether it be cleavage, side-boob, a small bikini or a plunging neckline. So, going a bit further and seeing nipple only fills in the blank of what we see in media all of the time. We see women in small bikinis as well, but as those women have no pubic hair, there isn't the tease that we might see a vag shot. Topless men in movies is very common. However, when was the last time you saw a vag-shot in a movie without the term "exteme nudity" attached? I think it…

He fucked his kid. I'm gonna save my sympathy for someone who deserves it.

This is not how child support payments work. The state bases it off of the monthly income of the parties, deviating only in very rare cases of extreme wealth or extreme poverty.
/r/MensRights14/10/10 11:19 PM

Judging by the women on my friend's list who are participating, I'm gonna go ahead and say that "feminism" has nothing to do with it.

She doesn't have the right to make unilateral changes to your parenting plan (or whatever they call it in your state). It's a Court Order... She can either work with you, or take you to Court. That being said, as others have stated, get your shut together. If things don't work out in mediation and you have to take it before a Judge, you'll have much better chances if you take steps to fix what's wrong. Two live in girlfriends is hard for a three-year-old to deal with. Hard to say if the Court wi…
