Yea it’s kind of scary to think of what america will look like in say 2030.. 2040..2050. I’m too agitated these days, I want a sneak peak or just flash forward to get a glimpse

Yea that’s fair. Government funded Scholarships eligibility should be open to all to apply. But the Adobe scholarship that is in the original post is being discussed and last I checked Adobe is private sector. The scholarships they choose to fund is their own decision

I don’t mean the question in a rhetorical way. I think society has yet to see the effects of more women going to college than men..? What do you think will be the negative outcome in society if more women graduate from college over men?

And there are plenty of scholarships available to people regardless of gender, race, whatever. Can’t both exist? If you think all scholarships should be available regardless of a person’s attributes then I guess fuck all to scholarships that exist for black people only, people from low income families only, first generation college applicants only scholarships, and so on

Is women outnumbering men in college really an issue though? Since there is a rise of women in universities, admission departments will accept more men over women when considering applications. Of course there’s more factors to it when it comes to admissions but colleges are recognizing there is a gender imbalance at schools. And they’re doing something about it. I still find the topic of scholarships for men only or scholarships for women only to be a non issue. https://hechingerreport.org/an-u…

??? There are more women in teaching positions because women are conditioned from childhood to be caretakers. They take on a caretaking role and being a teacher (or nurse) is an effect of those gender societal norms. It would be great if more men were teachers (I had awesome male teachers in middle school) and it would be even better if more teachers just existed overall, cuz ya know, shortage and all. I think the real issue lies in societies norms and stigma that both men and women go through. …

Exactly. There are a ton of trickle down effects in play here and we are already seeing echos of other rights and laws that were passed during Obama era up on the chopping block and questioned because r.v.w was overturned (specifically lgbtq rights) I don’t understand why more men don’t care. Simply saying it’s up to the states now and it’s not the federal job to uphold these old laws is really lazy. But I do agree more change needs to happen on a local and state level and then hopefully bigger …

Really? You’re mad about a scholarship that supports women? A scholarship that would help a woman gain access to the data science/computer science/mobile/web career fields that is already dominated by men? Why does this particular scholarship upset you when men alrdy have countless more opportunities and chances to these fields than women do. On top of that men are guaranteed to make more $$ compared to women throughout their life. I just don’t see your point in arguing against this scholarship …

Ooh this is me. Just went on a date. Really there’s nothing wrong with him and I am SO good at faking enthusiasm so poor dude thinks he has a chance and ofc wants to see me again. I really just didn’t vibe with his super extroverted personality. I feel bad thinking to ghost because I’d hate to be ghosted too but ... idk I guess I should? I don’t want to waste his time essentially or mine.

It’s okay. I use to offer too. Now I know. In the initially stages of dating and vetting, I do appreciate and want the guy to pay. If he did happen to bring up going dutch the first time, fine. I’m not going to make a scene or argue it. It’s just not worth my time making a stink about it. If it’s continually him suggesting we should dutch, ima wanna try and examine that. And then after a while, I believe whoever suggested the date should offer to pay.

This. You messed up girl. And for over a month..? Now you want to fix it? There’s no back peddling easily in deep water without some bite back. Here’s the number one thing you can do- next date, stop offering to pay. You mess up every single time you offer. That’s on you girl.
