I don’t think that’s our job. Is it true compassion to allow, or even encourage, people to pursue a life that you know is going to be mentally, physically and spiritually debilitating because it's easier than taking a hard line? It's considered inhuman to tell homosexuals that their desires are disordered but every urge we…

You need practice. Talk to every person you see in a day. Just the first thing that comes to mind. Worst case scenario they think "that was a bit weird" and then forget about it entirely.

Only go to college if you can get into a top 50 & will spend all your free time networking & creating your own businesses, or if you are part of a trade or regulated profession. Otherwise it's a massive scam, paying a bunch of satan-worshipping commies to brainwash you

I recommend guys begin by inviting a girl to join him in something he's already planning on doing, which mitigates this even further - now you're not even giving up your time because you're just doing what you'd already be doing anyway. She's just along for the ride. This 100%

Apparently there has long been a split between the two, I'm just reading now. "General Baptist" congregations, in historical terms, were Arminian, and "Particular Baptists" were Calvinist. I'm not much of a historian though

Some of the comments there remind me why I had to stop reading that subreddit... people being argumentative because they want to pretend there's nothing wrong with masturbation is mind boggling.

As far as I understand it, the Baptist churches descended from Anglicanism. They are typically Arminian, not Calvinist like Prebyterianism and other Reform churches. Certainly the one I attend is.

I'm a Calvinist at heart, but I attend a Baptist congregation because they are the only church around that puts heavy emphasis on gospel and scripture as opposed to limp-wristed liberal platitudes

In addition to ginoman2440's answer, I'd add that EMJ believes that most of the "churchianity" type problems with protestant denominations are because of sola scriptura, when in reality they come from not reading the bible or explicitly ignoring anything in the bible that doesn't satisfy your prejudices

Try fasting if you haven't. I recommend the "Snake Diet" protocol of supplementing salt and potassium while you fast. You can maintain on 1 big meal a day once you hit your goal weight.
