To answer your question, I'm learning about it because I am essentially over the psychological part of my social anxiety, and now it's just getting over the occasional fear and rejection. I'm not starting from ground 0, but there are enough AFC (I honestly can't remember what that even stands for, but I know what it means!) tendencies left that I'm limiting my opportunities to make friends or more than friends with other people - not just women. My goal is to first achieve consistency in seeing …

I get that there's a lot of good, but I am weary of the dark side is all.

Feels like I'm making excuses, but I think I'm just legitimately trepidatious about it.

So you've been doing it for a while? You seem to know what you're talking about. I really want to have an in depth conversation about "fun". This seems like as good a place as any for that. Who wants to discuss what it means to be fun, have fun, etc? It's pretty subjective. In the context of bars, it seems like being/having fun means getting drunk and doing silly things.

Philosophically, to embrace the "seduction" methods and community, would you say it's kind of an all-or-nothing deal? Everyone has different goals, but because oneitis is so bad, everyone kind of has the same goals too. Sometimes it seems like some of the misogynistic tendencies the seduction community is accused of are alive and well with the FRs I read. That's my hesitation. I don't want to slip into something I never wanted to be.

I've been lurking around here a lot and think that there are a lot of positive lessons in this community, but every time I read a FR I cringe a little. I really like the "be bold, be confident, approach, be yourself, care less about rejection" lessons. But I'm uncomfortable with "escalation" and "closing." I obviously have my own AA issues but I need to buy in before I get over those, right? Has anyone else had moral dilemmas before starting this in earnest?

Looking for thoughts on long-distance pickup. I travel a lot for work, and meet girls on planes frequently. I'm basically using text messages to build attraction and rapport until the next time I have personal contact. Any tips to maintain this over time?

This good logic. Sexual harassment is bad.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
