I think this is true, but only with attractive women, in which case men and women alike will attribute some kind of halo effect to the woman. This doesn't mean this phenomenon is entirely sex-based; I think it has more to due with power in general. A charismatic & intelligent, yet ugly/average man will probably earn the same amount of respect as a dim, yet very attractive woman when it comes to these sorts of situations. That's just from what I've observed. Like anyone else here I have my own pe…

the occurrence of a woman raping a man and also getting pregnant is so dramatically low that I don’t think it’s a fair hypothetical. Men like you be like “well pregnancies from rape are soo rare” but the reverse is even lower 💀 idk how you’re gonna keep arguing that abortion isn’t a womens issue it’s literally women getting pregnant

none of the things I listed were rare except death. Also what the fuck is that debacle of your last paragraph. Men leave their children and pregnant gfs all the time lmao it’s literally so common that its meme’d. Cool glad ur pro choice tho 👍

Does the slogan "my body, my choice" not bode well with you? Men are incredibly oblivious to the dangers and consequences of pregnancy, and cis men will never ever have to endure them. They should have absolutely no control over what a woman chooses to do with her uterus, nor any other person for that matter. But what is more jolting is that men seem oblivious to these conditions that women endure and have the audacity to pretend it's equivalently their issue. A cis man will never have to die or…

im a feminist in support of access of safe abortions. i dont hate men whatsoever. none of my feminist friends hate men whatsoever. absolutely no one is using abortion to justify hating men. in reality all the hatred is being blasted at conservative SCOTUS justices and politicians, including men and women. if you step outside and talk to people you'll realize that there are just about the same amount of women who hate men as men hate who women (both are quite low. reddit =/= reality)

once again you're a man making a women's issue about yourself. my comment and the one before it (hell, this whole topic of abortion) is a women's issue because women are the only ones to become pregnant and only pregnant people are ones that abortion regulations directly impact. What is so hard to understand? Can you tell me how your reproductive rights, as a man, can be improved today? Can you tell me what reproductive concern you, as a man, currently have? If your answer has to invoke anything…

Maybe your "gender swap" hypothetical isn't really accurate and you're overthinking. I'm a woman. If I had gone to a club and sat next to a group of men and they'd been clearly drinking, and one decided to lean on me, I'd probably be like "damn this man is out" and get up and tell his friends to take care of him. Obviously if he had been getting handsy I would also immediately get up and consider that an attempted assault. But really? If there's obviously no sexual intent, it's not sexual assaul…

for some reason a lot of the men here think every societal issue revolves around them, and if it clearly is important to women they'll find a way to make it even more about them. it's kind of terrifying to see. the fiscal repercussions of pregnancy for men are nothing, nothing compared to the physical and emotional impact it has on women. the overturning of roe v wade has made it possible for men to choose which women he wants to bear his children. even if the mother is nine years old. even if t…

Gotcha. So we just forcibly abort all the pregnancies and let children fend for themselves for the sake of equality?

On your last point: yeah that’s what I’m saying. I feel like even if “equality” was achieved by drafting women there has to be a limit otherwise our country would suffer… but like that’s not real equality. I was listening to a feminist philosopher once who said that the biggest reason women and men will never be truly equal is simply because women are the ones who have to become pregnant and birth/nurture an infant.

this is such a pointless comment lol I already stated I personally think the draft is abolished. I am directing these questions at men who think women should be included in the draft.

That’s a stupidly general question. I know a lot of empathetic women and a lot of empathetic men. I also know a lot of apathetic women and a lot of apathetic men. So no I don’t think one sex is more than the other because there’s too much variance. Lma

Thanks for agreeing with me that @infinity_calculator is sexist! If you think I said that… you got the wrong guy lmao

I think you quantify (implicated by the word “more”) emotions differently and perhaps in a non-logical way. You blatantly count stereotypical feminine qualities, I.e empathy, as some kind of emotion. Empathy isn’t an emotion my guy— it’s an ability that demonstrates emotional intelligence. Not being a risk-taker is not an emotion either. I’m not sure what kinda logical hoops you’re jumping through to try and prove yourself. But here: I’ve thought about it a little extra for you and I think I kno…

You saying that men are less emotional and more rational than women just kinda shows me that your misogyny runs deep and there’s nothing more I can say to make for a worthwhile convo. Kinda sucks tho to have to read that. Hope I never meet a man like you and I hope women give you the same treatment you give them.

Your first paragraph calls for some critical thinking. Why do you think most women have the deep-rooted inferiority complex? If I could answer, I’d tell you that it is because of a society that favors men when it comes to placing people in roles of leadership or power. When girls grow up seeing how every US president has been male, how famous inventors were male, etc kids pick up on that QUICK. It causes the bias because it’s the familiar status quo that men are the more powerful and influential…

Nope. That’s why I (and many other women) go to the gym.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
