I think it's pointless when people get upset about merely giving advice as to how to avoid rape. However, it is important that we don't then turn that advice around and say "well it's your fault that you became a victim because you weren't following the advice". I'm not so sure that women in comedy receive more support than men. Seeing as they are at constant scrutiny of people telling them "you're not funny because you're a woman" and aren't really subject to a whole lot of "you go girl" support. Seems apparent as there are way fewer female comedians, and the ones who do make it had to push through a lot of resistance.

I think it's fine to let there be two groups that focus on individual gender issues. Forcing one group to worry about all gender issues is just going to put too much on their plate, and then nothing will ever get done.

It seems like with both Feminists and MRA's in so many cases it's just boiled down to "LOOK AT THESE WAYS IN WHICH WE HAVE IT WORSE, CLEARLY THE OTHER GENDER HAS 0 PROBLEMS AT ALL". I'm fairly sure mansplaining is more the phenomenon where a man will feel like he has to explain things to a woman because he thinks he knows more. Cisgender is an actual thing. The prefixes are also used for chemistry as well as a list of other topics. I don't really feel like the appropriation and rape culture responses make much sense.

I think a big part of Feminism is that even though there aren't laws preventing that, society ultimately guides women away from those things. It guides men away from things too, it's not just a women's issue, it's basic gender roles. What's your opinion on that?
