Thanks! I haven’t, but I’ve admittedly not taken a business law class. I’ll take your word for it though! Pre-nups absolutely need to become standard. It’s no coincidence that lawyers joke about going into family law when they want to rake in money. Get the pre-nup to cut the lawyers off at the knees, and change the culture to stop the fight over custody. (Because pre-nups can’t be used to solve custody disputes—probably a feature, not a bug BTW) 80%+ of divorces are awful. I’d venture to say th…

Because the family court system is one giant f’d up scheme to make money. Lawyers are incentivized to make you hate each other so you spend more time in court, fighting over BS that shouldn’t even be in question, all while running up a nice big hourly bill for your lawyers. The judges are usually in cahoots with the family court lawyers, because they are former family court lawyers themselves. Watch the Divorce Corp documentary for more info on how rigged the system is. We enter into marriage ea…

Tip: if you’re interested in fixing the situation, instead of divorce, start small: Give her 2 genuine compliments every day. One about her appearance/her sexuality, one about who she is as a person. See if that starts making a difference. Example: “Wow, you look beautiful today.” and “You’re such an incredible mother.” Make it casual, don’t make them back-to-back. Don’t make it obvious this is what you’re doing so she feels like you’re having to “force” yourself. Give it a shot. YMMV, I obvious…

That is not by accident, that is by design. They’re also likely in bed with the judge.

I definitely remember watching it in 2014 so that sounds right to me! This is a must see for EVERYONE!! Because it hurts all of us, and it hurts children. Pre-nups won’t become common until all of us acknowledge the corruption in the system. We need to take away this idea that pre-nups are because “we don’t love each other.” No! It’s because we don’t want either of us to get screwed by a divorce system meant to fuck us. (Oh, I’m a woman if that wasn’t clear btw. Men get more fucked by the divorc…

Hello from the US! I agree with your concept ~in theory~ (because I myself see marriage as a contract as well and therefore take it very seriously) but I don’t see it panning out in a practical way. Marriage is so tightly wound with concepts of ~love~ in our society that I think that would be a much harder web to entangle than changing the culture around pre-nups. I also don’t see how it would work out in the sense of like— “she promised me she’d have sex with me 2x a week and she didn’t so we’r…

To quote Forbes: “It wasn’t until 1974, when the Equal Credit Opportunity Act passed, that women in the U.S. were granted the right to open a bank account on their own. Technically, women won the right to open a bank account in the 1960s, but many banks still refused to let women do so without a signature from their husbands. This meant men still held control over women’s access to banking services, and unmarried women were often refused service by financial institutions.” Also, your response is…

Very liberal woman here. Seriously, I’m probably to the left of everyone you know personally. Super far left. Gender inequality in divorce is a problem for me. Why? 1) I’m against inequality of all types, period. Regardless if it’s men, women, POC, gay, trans, etc. Inequality is always wrong. 2) As long as men are disproportionately affected by divorces and court systems that incentivize dishonesty, it gives men more reason to say “see! We told you women have more rights than men!” I don’t want …

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
