I grew up with soccer basically and i am a passionate follower of the beautiful game. I can tell you that in scrimmage games the teams do not hold back, for example the best German soccer team with the most trophies called FC Bayern München beat FC Rottach/Egern in a friendly match with the score being 23-0. It’s sort of the culture in soccer, you do not hold back. EDIT: it’s not just one match I have seen lots of games with scores being ridicolous even in national games.
