I ... thought if I had a LTR with her I would raise her kid as my own. Ah, yes. The Romantic Myth. I, too, was a victim. I had two, she had two. I had this dream of us merging into one big, happy family. Uh, no. I was never allowed to be a father to her two. One is now a career criminal who can't stay out of prison more than a few weeks at a time. The other is married to an SJW who never lets him ever be a man. That's the Reality of "raising her kids as your own." She'll never allow it.

Longtime lurker here. I see that I've been missing a lot of good stuff. I was put off by his name and have just skipped over his posts through the years.

I find very little (if anything) of value in the ideas of a religious cult that was extinguished thousands of years ago.

It was called the "Subversion Project." Look it up. Pro tip: include "KGB" in your search query to avoid getting hits about a software repository.

Perhaps not, but the denial of objective reality, and the idea that one can create reality, does. It started with Emmanuel Kant, who posited that reality is forever out of reach of human intellect. Then came Hegel, who built upon Kant's work and said that reality is contradictory, and proposed something called "dialectic" to resolve it. Marx built on Hegel's ideas, and said that we create reality, mostly through language. All of Postmodernism is built on that foundation.

What a tool. Believes that Reality is created from one's thoughts & feelings (a concept that comes straight from Marx), instead of being objectively independent. It's clear the he's never been married. I can hardly wait for him to come back here with his tail between his legs: "I was wrong. You guys were right." He is heavily invested in The Romantic Myth. Poor sap.

Same concept, different story. I'm in my late sixties. A few years ago I met a nice woman who was older than me and we struck up a friendship. I had no interest in someone so old and wrinkled. Just friends, thank you very much. And I figured, at her age, there would be no drama. We could just sit on the porch and talk about what ranchers and other rural folk talk about. But she started bringing up sex all the time, talking about all the men in our neck of the woods who supposedly wanted her body…

Wow. Powerful story that needs to be cut down to about a third of its length. At least it has a good takeaway.

Best introduction to TRP I’ve ever seen. Short & sweet, not complete: it’s an intro. And a damn good one.

Truth is painful. Realizing that there is no Santa Claus (I still remember that pain). Realizing that no woman will ever love you. Realizing that there is no God.

The absolute worst crying Beta song of all time has got to be Ronnie Milsap’s C&W hit, “Don’t You Ever Get Tired Of Hurting Me.” And the C&W genre is full of Cryin’ In My Beer songs.

Nobody is paying you to be her therapist, so you don’t need to ask what’s wrong with her. Ask what’s wrong with YOU for not immediately doing a hard Next and moving on.

You find it with something called a "search engine." DuckDuckGo is one example of a search engine. Using DDG, I found the original, which I shan't post here because it violates this subreddit's rules.

I wonder if I could ever really love a women again I should hope not. When my One-itis partner dumped me, I went through years -- decades, actually -- of grief before finding this sub. And through my tears, I said, "I'll never love, or trust, a woman ever again." And now that I understand that NO woman will ever love me (in the meaning that men give to the word "love"), I find that that is true. Not because my heart was broken and will never be mended, but because LOVE IS AN ILLUSION. It's not r…

This is ominous. Not the part about low-T; that's interesting but nothing more. The real meat is at the bottom: that "genetic counselor" is not going to tell you if the kid isn't yours. If you're starting a family, GET A PRENUP, and insist on paternity testing while the kid is still young enough to be aborted if it isn't yours.

Ahh. Thank you. I had a grinder show up at my campground last summer that I'm sure to see again this year. Now I know what to do.

I'm no expert, but IMO the best answer would be a terse, "True."

Yes, it's all been said before. But this is the BEST way of saying it that I've ever seen. Excellent piece.

What he said, and I speak from sad experience. Allow me to tell my tale. I was a single BP dad who married a single mom. I was never allowed to be a father to her kid. He was in serious need of correction, with inflexible rules, to curb his criminal tendencies (mostly petty theft). Every attempt to enforce the same discipline that I gave MY kids was blocked. He's now a career criminal, always back in the Pen for some new crime, while my own kids are productive citizens. And as she was blocking m…

Hmmm, this sounds like my first wife. She was seen by a number of psychiatrists, but none ever mentioned or even hinted at BPD. I wonder...
