To be fair.. read Op's replies. He doesn't want help, he rejects everyone's advice.

I was single for about a decade due to intensive education for my career that took all of my time. In that decade, I dated one guy from work for about 8 mos, went on a handful of dates. And no, I am not a 2. There were a couple guys who liked me who I could have dated, but I wasn't interested in them. When I finally had time, I dated like it was a second job. It took me about a year of dating many duds to find a good one, and now I'm married. A lot of professional women I know are single and hav…

She knows, she just doesn't want to deal with your temper tantrum so she remains vague. Dudes I've dumped- one was 40 goddam years old and didn't own anything (leased a new car every 6-12 months like an idiot) and had many stories about being a lazy leech; another was boring and handsy; another was way fatter than his profile and was too lazy to go to the doctor to get checked out for possibly genetic problem (I heard from another girl who went on a date with him who told him to go to the doctor…

So that guy who wanted me to buy him food did that. I stopped messaging him, blocked him on Facebook. He randomly texted me asking what haircut he should get. I said it's not working, we're at different places in our lives, and I wished him all the best. I've never actually had to block a guy, I usually just tell them it's not working out and they leave me alone (the good part of being cautious with my number, they're usually not creeps).

For someone I've just met and don't really know, like meeting in the grocery store and not talked to much, I would still do a screener date. I had one where he seemed awesome when I met him (some guy scratched my car and he was walking by and helped me) and the date was excrutiating. For someone I've already met and chatted with, dinner dates. I would reward them with my number after the screener date if it went well. Then it makes it easier to plan dinner, and I know he's not a creep. I should …

I am so confused about FDS and online dating. I know a lot of people here are entirely against it, including one of the mods, but there is an article titled "Vetting Strategies for Online Dating" in the handbook. To be fair, the user deleted that article, but the title is still in the handbook. FDS must not be completely against OLD or that never would have been included in the handbook

I legitimately considered joining a sports team to meet men. But, I had an injury, and could not join. I asked my friends if they knew any single guys on the team. The only single one was very LV. Absolutely nothing going for him in any dimension- except of course that he was nice 🙄 I asked my friend if she would date the guy herself. Oh he's not her type... ugh. That injury saved me

One of the creepiest dudes I dated went to salsa classes. I am 100% sure he did it to pick up women. After he kept trying to put his hands down my pants, then put my hand on his crotch on the third date, my pickmeisha friend suggested I just meet with him in public so he couldn't assault me. Yeah I noped on that one. Although to be fair, he noped as well- just couldn't wait any longer to have sex. And had the audacity to tell me he didn't want a relationship with a woman who had had more sexual …

They call it emotional incest, also mother-enmeshed men. It's explored to horrifying effect in the TLC series I Love a Mama's Boy

In Canada, it's almost impossible to adopt a healthy child. Abortion is widely available, so few babies are born unwanted. The babies up for adoption are typically seized from parents on drugs or alcohol, and most have health issues. If you want to raise a child to be an adult, and not just spend your life as a caretaker for a person who will never be independent, adoption isn't a good option depending on where you live.

My grandma had made a comment about Kate Middleton after she left the hospital after having her first baby. She said "Can you believe she's walking around looking like that?" I asked what she meant. She said she couldn't believe she would walk around with a belly like that. My grandma was starting to develop dementia at that time, so I thought it was just nonsense. I told my mom about it later. Nope, turns out my grandma didn't eat when she was pregnant, to the point that she didn't need materni…

I went to a museum with my ex and asked him to take a photo of me at an exhibit of something I loved. Some random dude tried to be nice and take the photo for us- I tried to refuse, but he wouldn't take no, and I didn't want to look rude by saying I wanted the photo alone. I'm still super sad about it. All of those photos with him.... none of just me and the exhibit.

Ghandi wouldn't let his wife take penicillin for pneumonia so she died. It was an "alien" drug. But then he got malaria and took quinine to save his own life. Ghandi was terrible.

I got so much hate for saying it's not OK to want to rape someone. These are the types of people OP are dealing with. I'm so glad FDS affords a safe haven of sanity!!!

There was one on RA recently where people were saying someone was closed minded, kink shaming etc for not being OK that her boyfriend watched rape porn. A rape victim went off on me for saying it's not OK to fantasize about raping someone- she thinks rape porn is just dandy. That's rather sort of thinking you get there- loving something that may have been responsible for one of the worst moments of your life. Just so so sad. The relationship (and AITA) subs have a large number of broken people, …

THANK YOU. I commented exactly this- one pickmeisha commented that her boyfriend watches porn, and it's fine, because there's no "interaction", but this woman has interaction because she posted a photo. I pointed out that's only valid if you ignore the fact that the women in pornography are actual human beings, and if you don't consider masturbation to be "interaction" While I don't think it's cool to post nudes whilst in a relationship, I think posting a nude as a self esteem boost (which I thi…

This man's University should be ashamed. He clearly has no understanding of addiction. Let's look at the first sentence, but take out porn: "What if the problem with frequent or problematic 'X' use was not the behavior itself, but how you, your partner, your religion and the culture around you judged it?" And replaced it with alcohol, drugs, gambling, etc. It sounds absolutely ridiculous. The definition of addiction is when something interferes with your life. It doesn't have to be a physical ne…
