Thank you for sharing your story. My son is non-verbal and autistic. I often struggle with the idea of dating as I am certain no man would stay. I can remember when I was getting divorced this woman my mom went to church with said "Are you sure you want to divorce? No other man will want to deal with your child". I've always felt she was correct about the latter statement, but it was no reason to stay with my ex-husband.

Any adult with sense knows they cannot be number one in someone's life the entire time. Run from any man who "wants to be the priority" at all times.

They never do because they inwardly know they will never find it.

Overall, these men look for external solutions for all of their problems. Indeed, it's an astounding lack of self-awareness. People are constantly looking for an escape, a distraction. I use "people" because a lot of women are like this too. There are many distractions: food, sex, drugs, sports, politics, work, relationships, etc. Most people aren't self-aware enough to sort out that the cause of their woes begins and ends in the mirror.

I'd agree that most men are like this. Most people are barely self-aware. Do you really think they aspire to a higher morality? I don't concern myself with the thoughts of fools and I suggest you do the same.

I'm sorry that happened to you, but do what you want to do. It has power as long as you let it have power over you. It's a naked body. Wow. I can do a simple google and see one right now. I think it's time to see a therapist and let the shame go. There are a lot worse things in this world that you could have done.

Oh god, i get why these things are posted, but you need to remember PPD doesn't represent most men. Most men barely get matches, let alone first date sex. A lot fo them are just liars. And yea, that guy is probably ugly.

Look up grey rock. I've done this to a lot of men. They aren't bright enough to figure out I'm being boring intentionally. I did it to the last crazy male I went out on a date with because he was one of those IT whizlords. Google grey rock and you will get good strategies. You need to get your ducks in a row while making him think breaking up is his idea. DO NOT MENTION YOU ARE TRYING TO DUMP HIM EVER!

This is going to sound like a humblebrag, but I think it's because I am a decent listener. Most people are never heard in their life, so when they have someone around who does that, they tend to get really attached.

I dunno, i had to stop even trying FWB because those men would always catch feelings and I'd get annoyed.

If there's no feeling on the woman's part they can't feel like they've conquered something. It's so annoying. Just admit you want emotional intimacy and clean your act up.

Here's the problem: Beyond being broke, these men can't "conquer" if the woman has no feelings for them. It's why they bitch about prostitutes even though they use them. They are denied any real intimacy. They may as well just masturbate because that's what they are doing. They are too unaware of themselves to realize what they are actually chasing. Keep trying to fill that hole instead of face yourself though guys, it's working out really well for you :|

that's a big part of it. Our media glamorizes relationships. One thing that helps me is the realization that most of my female ancestors had no choice in what they did. They were tied to men, like it or not. Now, I have that choice. I can do what I want to do and I owe to all of those who came before me to stand strong in what I desire for my life.

I would extend this to women as well. I don't think it's as hard for women, though. People give too much mental real estate to sex. It's just sex. Calm down. Giving it power over your life is the quickest way to develop unhealthy obsessions with and about it.

Hey my young one: You have to love yourself. All of the things you say you lack, while they may be nice to have, they will not make you love yourself. If beauty was the key to happiness then why did the most beautiful women of Hollywood live the most tragic lives? Monroe - suicide. Taylor? Constant battles with addiction. Loren? Trashy husband who cheated on her quite often. Women who will look better than I ever will, yet all went through a lot of crap. Many of these women everyone lauded for t…

This is why I refuse to marry unless that man worships the ground I walk on and kisses my ass daily. It's too much damn stress for no reward. I make money on my own. They love to threaten me with "you'll be alone when you are old". Good. I see old women bitching about their mean ass husbands all the time. I want no part of that shit. Women my age (38) get in my DM's all the time crying about their sad sack of shit. If you look at the scientific studies, single women are happier than married ones…

It's also worth noting that most men who do multiple date don't have the emotional bandwidth to do it effectively. Ever have a guy text you some BS that you can tell was intended for someone else? Or that it's an obvious copypaste? Dead giveaway.

It doesn't matter if you can't prove anything. Society impresses upon women that they are to deny their feelings as "illogical" unless they can prove something happened. Your feelings are proof enough. Furthermore, you do not need a reason to justify dumping a man. This is another social pressure put on women. If they dump a man, they must justify it. You have nothing to justify. You are clearly anxious and unhappy. Cut this dead weight and heal.

Alright, there are some good replies here, but I'm gonna drop the law: This idea that you will be able to do what you want when you are "hot" is bullshit. Sorry, it's all a delusion between your ears. When you finally get yourself to sufficiently "hot", you will find something else to hate yourself for. You will find some other reason to not do what you want to do. The root of the problem is that you do not believe you are enough. If beauty was the key to happiness then no beautiful person shoul…

If men are allowed to have standards then so are women. I've dated, and probably would still date, blue-collar men, but these tend to be tradesmen. Carpenters, plumbers, etc. A couple of them owned their own businesses and made an excellent living. The living isn't the important part to me (although I'd be lying if I claimed it didn't matter), it's the drive and the willingness to better yourself. I got my BA at 33. It's mostly because people have no idea what they are doing. It's why DIY divorces are often messed up as well. If you want a real prenup, hire a decent lawyer. It's usually not worth your time if your net worth is less than 1 million. I work in the legal field. We love DIY lawyers because you'll end up in front of us later fixing that crap. We also love cheaters and narcs as you'll need our services quite often lol.

I kinda disagree here. Water attracts its own level. Decent men do get cheated on, I've seen it, but if it's happening over and over again, there is likely something off with your picker. Most of the men I've seen in these sort of situations tend to be the sort who go for "wild" sorts of women. They are attracted to intensity. Not a good idea. Or they fixate on looks. Gross, but I have to turn this around - He is dating her. If he thinks she's so stupid, why is he dating her? Why would you waste your time on someone you obviously have no respect for? I know why -she's probably physically attractive to him and for many dudes, that's enough. It's a terrible foundation for a relationship and leads to shit like this. I see it in many marriages. Stop beating yourself up. It's normal to think about someone after you break up with them. How long has it been? If it hasn't been a year, you shouldn't expect much of yourself on that front. I was married for 11 years. It wasn't until I was in year 2 of post-divorce life that I stopped really thinking about my ex often. Give yourself time and keep practicing no-contact. You aren't a failure for thinking about him. it's perfectly normal and it will pass.

You have to remember many people here are young. That's not to say that's bad, but it's a different time in life. You think you know it all, the world is new, things that are silly to you now seemed important at that age. Don't take their words as a comment on your life. And for some odd reason, that's all men want in my city. Thin, sporty, blonde, in athleisure, into kayaking, with the designer dog. It's like pointing to the sky on a clear day and saying "The sky is blue". Sex is easy to get, but that doesn't mean anything really, and men will screw anything. There's a vibe here that you need to acknowledge - this air that men will love in spite of something rather than because of something. The later is scary as a concept. We project our insecurity out into the world and assume that others feel the same as us. But that's not true. Many men will love you BECAUSE you are a good mother. On the real, many of the women here are young and are still HEAVILY influenced by the beauty standard. Whenever someone has an issue here one of the first comments is they need to "level up their appearance". The problem is there are diminishing returns. Eventually, you run out of things to "fix". Even then, there are still plenty of men who still won't find you attractive. If you point this out, they think you are invalidating their pursuit of having a socially acceptable look. Oh this guy, it's always "lower your expectations" with him. He doesn't say it like that, but that's the core of the message. Lose weight, look pretty, compete with other women, etc. And he also calls himself part of the "intellectual darkweb" like lol right. A Jewish man paling around with anti-semites. Makes perfect sense. Srsly, can anyone run one of these columns and proclaim to be an expert? Homie sells books for 50 dollars, has no background in psychology, and negs his wife all the time. S…

Things can work on paper, but not in actual life. I think that's where you are getting off-track. I'm sure you are a good-looking woman, but that's not enough to keep someone around. It's just not. It might spark attraction, but it won't make things work. And there's nothing wrong with that. It doesn't mean something is wrong with you. Sometimes things just don't work. You can't make allowances for taste. In my own life, I'm objectively fat and not very attractive - I'm quite willing to prove it…

It's very common. In fact, I think most men try to get away with no doing it. The men who use protection all the time are in the minority for sure. The last stat I saw was that men use condoms around 30% of the time, but most admitted they don't use them all the time, or even most of the time. Lots of dirty dicks out there ladies.

He's a racist PUA. How shocking. I don't think we need to give him any free clicks for his terrible writing.

ladies, beauty isn't something you owe anyone. You don't owe anyone perfection. You don't owe them thinness, flawless skin, none of that. Love yourself either way. The vast majority of men think i'm unattractive and tell me that, but I still love myself. You don't have to be perfect to be loved. You don't have to be useful or anything else. Rest in yourself and take care ladies.

This is why I am so hard on the pick-mes. These women are the most dangerous beings walking this planet. Men are men. We know what they are, these pick-mes? Oh, they'll murder their own children over a man. Don't have them near you because they will hurt you.

Pffft, men look like hot garbage over 30 generally. I'm 38, I'm ugly, but let me tell you swiping on OLD and seeing these men can make my stomach turn. And that's after waking up to me in the mirror every day. Whew.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
