Thanks for taking the time to explain. I do appreciate your concern but I disagree. Frankly, your first reason is rooted in/reinforces archaic and harmful gender stereotypes. You just insulted every single male caregiver, teacher, pastor, school counselor, child psychologist, etc. by implying that a man can’t be interested in child development unless he’s a pedophile. Reason #2 is somewhat insulting to single mothers. He invited me to a public place and because I’m a single mom, he must be a pre…

Wait, what? Why? Because he's a youth pastor?

Please see my comment here: https://www.reddit.com/r/FemaleDatingStrategy/comments/idhl6q/would_moving_in_together_be_a_bad_idea/g29r7e0?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3 Also, my son was actually there when my bf and I first met. We met randomly at a coffee shop while he and I were traveling; he struck up a conversation and invited us to his church where he would be teaching a youth group for kids my son's age the following day. I'm apparently very dense and I didn't even know he was …

He didn't say that weekends won't cut it for him verbatim. He just said that he wants to spend more time with me than once a week, and I'm on the same page as him re: that. I want to spend more time with him, too. Comments re: my son are coming up a lot so I want to clarify a couple things. He's not trying to insert himself into my life and my son's life. He's been very respectful of any boundaries I've set. In the very beginning, I told him that I didn't want him to spend any time with my son b…

Only seeing him on weekends won't cut it for him so you want to be sensitive to that? Girl you are spelling it out for yourself. He wants the milk for free and not having the milk for free won't cut it for him so you are going to give it without expecting him to buy the cow. Damn, well. When you put it that way 😂thanks for laying it all out, sis. You're right.

He actually hasn't talked about living together at all, let alone pressure me. Sorry if that wasn't clear in my post. I'm just freaking out about how it already feels like we're living together. But you're right. It's only been 6 months and I shouldn't make any rash decisions and I should probably have a conversation about boundaries/spending less time together.

Remind me why he isn't finding a closer job and closer apartment, anyway? Why should you be the one making all the changes for him? Come to think of it, why isn't there already a plan to "close the gap" if it's as serious as you think it is? It's certainly something he wants to do. A couple months ago I told him that financial stability is important to me and I wasn't sure about his ability to provide for a family since he wasn't making much money. He heard me loud and clear, stepped up his game…

Thank you, your directness is super helpful. I can be myopic about stuff like this, especially in these circumstances. COVID/SIP has made our relationship move a lot faster than it normally would, since we haven't really been able to date in a traditional way (I'm in an area where all non-essential businesses have been closed for months). Also, this is my first relationship in years; after talking to/dating literally hundreds of men he's the only one who has ticked every box so I'm very hopeful.…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
