True story, my next door neighbour was murdered a few years ago by his partner. Throughed with a kitchen knife. She plead that she was blackout drunk and can’t remember it (how that’s a Defence idk) she got something like a year in prison and now his parents have to watch her walk around. Sentencing for women is an absolute joke.

If you’re talking about the Tommy Robinson thing, that didn’t happen because the perpetrators were Asian and the guys a cunt. As far as I’m aware that can be a fairly standard practice in UK court cases where outside influence can affect the case and could potentially be grounds for a mistrial. The entire case nearly got thrown out with the perpetrators walking off scott free because he wanted some social media content.

I don’t believe all refugees should be mistrusted either. But we should be very, very discerning. Particularly in not allowing them to ghettoize neighbourhoods/towns and not integrate into the society properly. I’m not quite sure that would wash with potential rape/terrorism victims families that it was for the greater good.

Personally couldn’t have cared less about abstract problems like inequality when I was in. What I did care about is having to divide up an attached females kit between a section because she couldn’t carry it (which I seen) or female soldiers being unable to operate their weapons systems properly (which I seen) or every single attached female placing last of the entire battalion, every PT session(which I seen.)

The difference in physical standards is negligible compared to gender standard differences though, and AFAIK most militaries are doing away with this model anyway and moving towards a single standard across age groups.

Generally speaking the older military members that meet the slightly lower thresholds bring something to the table though through more experience. For example, a 35 year old Sgt Major might not be as physically fit as a 18 year old private, but he’s been in the military for 15+ years and completed numerous promotional/qualification courses, and in often cases is actually able to outperform the younger members physically anyway just through mental robustness.

I don’t think so, I knew a kid who was murdered when we he was 14 and the kid who killed him was 15 at the time. 15 years later he’s still in prison. Edited to add: Obviously the sentences rendered will be case dependent but there’s definitely not a 10 year maximum on murder charges for minors in the UK.

He was more than likely ducking into the doorway to extricate himself from the situation since they seemed to be aggravated by him for whatever reason. That’s the sense I got at least. It’s a bit of a precarious position for bouncers here because obviously they have a job to do but if they go too far and get caught, not only would they be charged by the police but they’d lose their SIA licence, which means they’d also have to look for another line of work.
