This is so horrifying and so disgusting. I hope she files a police report on him :(

Just trust me when I say something is off. I also dated a guy who was exactly like this. So sweet, took me on the best dates. He totally love bombed me. Cue 7 months later. I've been crying everyday because of bull that he pulls, the 'jokes' that he makes. And now he's saying 'why should I put the effort in taking you on dates, if you are going to end up crying, and I'm not going to get anything out of it' The anything he is referring to is bjs. He thinks he deserves bjs in return for doing nice…

Unrelated to the topic of this post, but OP, you are being very disrespectful to everyone commenting in this post. Get a grip on yourself. Mods, please do not normalize this behaviour. I agree she has a point, but there is a way of talking to your fellow FDS members.

Agreeing with this. Even my friend's bf who takes her happiness into full account and puts so much effort. Even he fought back against unfollowing some IG fitness girls. But everytime after any fight, he understands where he went wrong, and goes above and beyond for her. They've been together for 2 years now. So I can see that he's made mistakes, but overall he treats her like a queen. So are there HVM? Because he is a decent guy, but has still made mistakes.

Definitely, I once cleaned for a boyfriend before I left (he was out). Once he got home, I barely heard any appreciation, as if it was normal to expect from a gf. Never cleaned again.

There was a scientific study done on this, that both men and women's brains light up in the same region and extent when they saw someone attractive. So that bull can be put to rest

My ex told me how he preferred small and perky boobs, and had to get accustomed to my large boobs. And he said that knowing that I had so many insecurities regarding my breasts. Asshole #1

I agree with this. In some ways, it's nice to know that an LVM is given zero attention in this subreddit. But we should all be aware of this scammer.

For me, it's a problem when: 1) He doesn't know them 2) They want some sort of attention, and he's giving it. My man doesn't need to be validating another girl's self esteem. 3) The main point of the photo is to show off their looks/body, and nothing else. No hobby, no skills, only their looks.

Yeah the photos we have problems with are lewd photos where these 'models' are trying to look for validation from thirsty men.

I agree, when I was new to witnessing men liking insta model pictures. Comments from these girl would bring me so much more pain. It made me self-doubt myself over and over. Until I was able to formulate my own opinion that this behaviour was nasty.

I just had the guy I'm dating take my trauma and use it against me. Basically implying why I was so lenient with my ex, compared to him. The fact that I was gaslighted and emotionally abused totally doesn't matter to him. He just wanted to serve his own agenda, that he should be treated in a certain way. I felt so disrespected, and victim blamed. I thought so much better of him.

I hate it too, but anxious attachment folks can be vulnerable and express love. Avoidants don't know how to do that, and struggle their entire lives learning how to. So they never open themselves to truly feel how love is like. For anxious, we get to experience love so deeply, and the associated pain :(
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy04/02/21 10:31 PM
5

It's not actually like that. It's more like an x and y axis. Where x is for attachment avoidance And y is for attachment anxiety. Anxious attachment is low in avoidance, but high in anxiety. Fearful attachment is high in avoidance and high in anxiety. Secure is low in avoidance and low in anxiety.

After dating 2 avoidants. I finally found a secure man to date. And now I realized he's misogynistic AF, and doesn't care for my emotional wellbeing. After learning about attachment styles, I thought secures would be more reliable to date :( Do you have any bad experiences with dating secure guys? How did you leave those relationships? I feel horrible right now knowing I need to break up. It's still hard to leave

I agree! The guy I was dating dated someone for four years before me. He said she had alot of issues, but he didn't really care too much to solve them. That really irked me, but he always showed me that he cared about my issues. I gave him so much crap to deal with, but he never budged. When I questioned him, he said 'I'm serious and ready to settle down. I see a future with you. I value the qualities you have. The things you say you have issues with are easy for me to fix. Attached kinda gives you a broad understanding of what Attachment styles are, how they learned about it, and general strategies to protect yourself as an Anxious Attachment. But regarding doing the psychological work to change your patterns of thinking. I would recommend 'Love me, Don't Leave me'. I'm working through the strategies right now too :) I found the free pdf online, so you don't have to buy it.

I also feel that this would be nice in an idea world. But we don't live in one. I don't think you can expose yourself so much and ask to not be sexualised. We all have a responsibility to dress the way we want to be perceived. If we don't want to be defined by our sexual parts, then why put them in the forefront? Why wear things that are attention seeking to that aspect of your body. Of course, people will ignore other traits that you admire about yourself. I'm not the type of person to dictate …

Personally I've always wanted to get boob-lift, but after exploring the bs standards of beauty that are placed on women. I think I'm good. And I am literally dating a guy who couldn't even fathom why I thought my boobs weren't beautiful. He loves them to death.

Yeah I recall trying to 'cOmMuNiCAtE', and told him what if I said something similar about your lips. (He had huge lips). And lol, he turned it on me that I was talking down about a physical feature he couldn't change 😂😂😂

I was talking about something completely different, and he decided to put his preferences out there 8 months after we started dating. He said all this even after I shared with him that when I was younger, for years, I never looked in the mirror after showering, because I hated my boobs. He had the audacity to say this crap to me! "Accustomed" What a LVM. Even pre-FDS I fought him so much for what he said. But I should have been able to LEAVE him. Cue some time later I found FDS, and learned abou…

I am so happy that people are starting to come out and make videos about this unacceptable behaviour. This is something that men so commonly gaslight us about. Let's stand together and take a stance. No more letting this perverted behaviour stay normalized!

Oh yeah, I've had the issue where they couldn't find me. Even though I was on the phone for 5 minutes helping them. And then Uber tried to tap a 'waiting fee' on me, because the driver was inept!

'I had to get accustomed to your boobs.' Pretty effed when he knew I was so insecure about them. Where I spent years not looking in the mirror naked, so I didn't have to see them. After, he tried to pass it off as ohhh my ex had perky but non-existant boobs, and you actually have something. He also used to point out any pimple I would get. And honestly, I was the type that never cared, because they go away within a week. It always felt like he was trying to make me insecure about something I was…

Yeah it pretty much sucks. I'm 5'11", and honestly I've tried dating shorter, but it just makes me feel like their mom. Is it really that hard to find a tall, educated guy, who's Ur age? Cuz that's the bare minimum requirements. Then we gotta look into emotional intelligence, morals, chemistry. Sighh

I agree, especially with my recent post. I only wish I found this sub earlier. Because I was gaslighted about my boundaries in real life, by 'friends', by reddit. There was no place that I had support. I was honestly shocked at the amount of support I got for my post. It was overwhelming and, I'm so so thankful! Cheers to the sisterhood!

Yeah exactly! The first time I saw the lewd photos on twitter. I sent them to him, and asked don't you feel ashamed of yourself? He said he did. But clearly not, since he kept liking that crap the next day. What a clown 😂

I'm okay with porn, but not insta models, not strip clubs, not snapchat premiums, not cam shows, not naked subreddits. But the fact is, I made my boundaries clear, and he accepted them. It's not controlling, because I was ready to leave, and now I've officially left. You can feel like something is controlling, but that's because you indulge in that. I don't go gaga over hot guys, I don't look at people sexually. So why would I tolerate a dude ogling girls sexually?

I'm comfortable in myself. I just lose respect for people who have created a hobby of lusting after women. Just my opinion

It's not about self esteem though. It's about respect. I've never and still don't compare myself to Instagram models. I just don't care for them. The issue is purely about my partner's actions.

I was at work, and everytime I remembered 'validation from weirdo wankers', I couldn't stop laughing. That is some fine imagery! But I definitely agree with you, and it really points to what they value in life. If they can spend so much time focused on superficial aspects of a person, how much emotional depth do they really have? That way of living is so one-dimensional.

There's so many aspects to why I dislike my partner following Instagram models. And you described the second aspect. If a man cannot see past the Photoshop and angles. How dumb is he? He really believes those bodies are real? I feel like a smart man wouldn't even fall into the illusion AND he would have much much better things to do with his time.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy28/07/20 07:59 PM
9

Exactly. It didn't make sense to me why he'd instantly agree to my boundaries. And then when he's caught, proceed to mansplain why Instagram models shouldn't bother me. He has no say. My boundaries have been pre-determined, aka before I met him. That's what gets me angry, I literally told him, find someone who is okay with this when it initially came up. He doesn't get to choose whether he can change my mind or not. That's so egoistic.

I agree. It's not about insecurity for me. I just feel so disrespected. I wish I could do the same back, but I'm just not that type of person, and don't want to stoop to their level. Aha the guy you dated was a clown. They can't even admit they need validation to feel better.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy28/07/20 06:32 PM

Yeah, it feels horrible, especially when you are giving your all. You don't feel the need to look at other men, but they do? And the thing is, it's not about insecurity at all. I'm fit, and I'm happy with myself. It's about feeling disrespected. Completely disrespected. And also that's not how I imagined love. I imagined love like this beautiful and pure emotion shared between two people. Add lust to the mix? Nope, it just ruins it for me.

Yes! He knew exactly how I felt and chose to continue. They are so entitled to think that they can change the way we think after we state our boundaries! Don't worry, he's been thrown out. Oh the video was this one: https://youtu.be/dlZsGpWJmos But I don't like School of Life either. I remember they made a video about polyamory, and how it's so great. But monogamous people are too jealous, so because of their own insecurities, they can't enjoy the beauty of poly. Complete bull. Maybe we don't li…

You can definitely see their following list if they have a public account. If they have a private account, you need to follow them. Try using desktop, maybe it won't redirect you to login. I would say, just make a blank Instagram account. Especially with this incident, I learned, if you are going to check, check entirely and properly. If I didn't see the entire following list on desktop, I wouldn't have known the extent of nastiness.

It used to be so painful when I didn't have anyone on my side. Everyone told me it's normal, it's okay, stop being insecure. And I really had to learn how to stand up for my boundaries. Thank you so much for writing this comment. It means alot to me to have your support 😊

/r/FemaleDatingStrategy14/07/20 06:45 PM

I agree too! I was so vulnerable during that time because staying with him meant I had to deal with the fact that he went to the strip club, that he followed Instagram models. Although he stopped, it's the fact that he did those things in the first place. Once I left him, my mind cleared up so much. Because I didn't have to force myself to get over something I was never comfortable with. It was so freeing to be single.

These types of posts hurt alot. Because I've been traumatized in my last relationship with the strip club and lewd Instagram models. Alot of you say attraction is normal. But I'm not even at the point where I am going to accept that. I don't care what's normal and what isn't. I'm not going to accept a man that looks at other girls sexually. Period. I don't do it, and I hold the same standards.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy08/06/20 03:47 PM

I'm not attracted to men unless I find something interesting or admirable about them. So outside a relationship, I don't feel attracted to others. I expect the same of my partner.

And to be honest, it was probably her. She's the one who says due to the nature of her job, she might be in situations like first dates, etc. She's also gone into detail about how Jared let her reconnect with her ex. Which is something she really needed to explore, otherwise she'd be left wondering for life. So it seems like he's the one that is chill with everything.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy25/05/20 02:31 PM

I agree, and the thing I don't like is that she pretends to be what she's not. She says she's open, but Jared (her husband) has said she will often say 'not that one'. Her own parents have laughed and called her out that her relationship is definitely not open. They don't have sex or intimate relationships with anyone else. She really just jumps on the bandwagon, and it bothers me because she's not practising what she preaches. So why is she putting down monogamy? Talking about 'not trying to co…

Yeah I'm tired of it. Never again will I stomach accepting strip clubs and Instagram girls. I never need another man to indulge in looking at other women sexually and telling me that I'm the problem.
