I highly agree with this man. Especially if OP has done the whole college thing already. The military is nothing more than for people who want to coast through life and never really accomplish anything for themselves (excluding combat troops).

Also, they never tell you this but google "Duty Section." This is where you stand watch. It is usually every 4 days and you have to go to muster in the morning and can't really do shit the whole day. Even less if you have watch. It is no joke and if you ever miss a watch or are late for muster you are F U C K E D.

BTW Nuke has a VERY high drop out rate. Like if you fail one test you're gone. I worked with a nuke drop out and he never got the 2 year extension revoked from his contract so now he is serving six years for a four year rating. Be careful.

CTM actually. I was shore duty in Hawaii. I went from E-1 to E-5 in 2.5 years. I was very successful. Still hated it.

Well I just got out of the Navy. Here's a rundown of what to expect if you are young and impressionable: Prepare to take up smoking. Prepare to become a republican or be ridiculed.
