Enjoy the new ride, get a good lid, and stay safe out there.

The real question is, what bike are you getting?

Mine is tungsten as well, just a simple band. I like to repurpose it into something motorcycle related, but I haven't found the right use case yet.

I'm not really seeing it as an obstacle, to be honest. I have plenty of things to occupy my time, and a relationship isn't something I want to add to the mix. I'd rather focus on my hobbies and self improvement.

While I can't offer any financial advice, your situation is very familiar. Give your kids a safe, supportive and stable environment; and take care of yourself so you can take care of them. It's probably gonna get rough and dark, keep going and don't give up.

Same here, but mine is tungsten.

When my kids are old enough and on their own, I'm trimming my life down to the essentials.

Me time, personal projects, and hobbies.

To fill an emotional need. Don't get me wrong, I love my dogs, but if you're barely scraping by, a dog is not the answer to your problems.

Keep it up! I just joined a boxing gym and it's awesome. I'm terribly out of shape, due to a sedentary job with long hours. I committed to a full year at the gym, I can't stick to exercise unless someone else is making me do it. 😀

This is my mindset as well. My time (what little I get between work and kids) is mine. I have plenty of hobbies to keep me busy. Looking into joining a boxing gym to get back into shape.

No interest at all, but I'm willing to bet it's a mess out there.

Well, I have two kids, so they consume a majority of it. When I have time to myself, I have multiple hobbies that I enjoy, then there's always the ever-present chore list. I have a very sedentary job, so I need to start getting back into shape.

I'm still working on getting mine finalized. I'm a few years younger than you, but I agree I have no interest in dating or any of the drama that comes along with it. My time is mine.

Do you mind posting about your experience with the gal? I initiated that process with my stbxw, which wasn't received well.

I would pay the dance fees, those are for your kid. But that's just me.

I did that exact thing! Your problem now buddy 😆

You gotta learn how to be alone and comfortable with yourself. It takes time, but it's worth it.

I have an uncommon skill set. So it's not typically too hard, but you never know.

My divorce isn't finalized yet, but I plan on trying to find IT contract work that can be done in my off hours.

You are not responsible for someone else's actions. I'm sure others will come along and chime in with a lot more wisdom and input, but that was one of the best things it was ever told to me.

This is exactly how I feel. No desire to date, my time is mine now. Sure I get lonely sometimes, but that's life. If I meet someone in the future, that's cool, if not, I've always got me.

I was just responding regarding the MLC acronym, I don't know what it is so I had to Google it. And Major League Crickett was one of the first results so I just went with that!

I knew it was Major League Cricket's fault. I've always had my suspicions.

I am well aware of the root cause of my hesitancy and reluctance to consider dating, those are my issues, as well as a newfound appreciation for my freedom and time. We never get one second of wasted time back. There are definitely some bad actors in the dating world, and I know not every woman is like that. Plenty of awesome people out there, but I want to work on making me awesome, for me.

I thought I was ready, but I just couldn't. Still too much to work through, and I don't want to give up what little freedom I have. Give yourself time and patience.
