Can’t speak for everyone (and hell lord knows my situation ain’t right now) but I can offer you this. My first two experiences with women after my ex wife, I had a similar experience. My man said “hell no dude…wtf are you doing?” My head said yes, my other head said no. Fast forward a bit, I hooked up with my ex. No problems whatsoever. I was turned on like no one’s fucking business bro. ATTEN-HUT! I’ve tried again here and there man. It’s psychological for me. It’s rough. I’m working on it, but…

Thanks man. I’ve been had enough. It’s been a lot of pain and struggle. That’s why it’s been such a hard pill to swallow when it comes to not passing my very last class in my MSA program. I was driven. I was disciplined. I was healthier. Nothing could fucking stop me. These past 3 years man, just Covid happening, working from home with my ex wife completely screwed us up with our special needs son getting ABA therapy at home while I was still new at the job, divorce. I don’t know how much more I…

Yep, I poured down the alcohol I had down the drain. I’m done with it. That’s the thing man. I used be shredded at 170lbs. Healthy, happy, and all that. I know this is my first step. Just hard to take care of me when I’m constantly working and trying to do school, and parent. I’m a financial auditor, which already has a heavy workload. She doesn’t really occupy my head so much. It’s just it feels like the success of one or the other is still hardl heavily dependent on one or the other. I’d love …

It does take two ya know. I contributed to our divorce for sure. Covid, working from home for a solid two and half years, trying to care for our son who has autism, disagreeing on how my older daughter should be towards him, just so much happened while trying to work, be a father, go to school, and be a husband…man it just all went to shit. I’m struggling hard at work knowing I know have to pay back all this tuition assistance for my masters. It’s just like life just keeps knocking me fucking do…

Wrecked. Don’t care. Take care of me. I have two kids, don’t want any more. 34 age Together 12, married 2 and half I’m trying to convince myself I don’t hate women.

Apparently it would have been for the two and half years. And now I recall what the lawyer said. “Maintenance” is what he called it.

Secured myself? I’m doing just fine. Her infidelity? I never said she cheated on me. Also, dude, I’m the one who wanted the divorce. We disagreed heavily on parenting and the way she treated our daughter was disgusting. I’m not going to give ever detail here, but we fought over everything related to our kids and that’s why I ended it. My daughter is with me 80% of the time and we 50/50 with our son.

I did move on. I’ve been divorced almost 1 year to the day. I didn’t want to fight her over every detail and drag out a divorce. We separated in June of 2021 and divorced in March of 2022. Had we been married the entire 12 years we were together, I’m sure the outcome would have been different. I didn’t ask for anything other than the house, which I bought her out of. And then I sold it when the housing market went insane. (She’s not happy about that 😂) I just shared my story as I feel like 90% o…

Yea, see this is when all of my logic goes out the window and I would think about deleting someone. Edit: And this is why I have no desire to ever find a partner again. At least for now.

Yes. It’s not funny, but funny how my ex and I approached this after nearly going to fucking war via lawyers. This is literally how we settled. I didn’t like it because it still worked I her favor. But for example let’s use my house. I paid for rent and bills as far as our apartments for the first 4 years of our relationship. I only paid the mortgage for 2 years (asset) on our house because I went back to school. We literally came up with a percentage of contribution and divided our assets based…

Dude I’m so confused by what you meant after looking at your post history. I’m genuinely curious as to what you meant.

Nice. I took a gander. I’m not trying to “seduce” a woman at all. That’s what I’m getting at. I still want sex here and there, but prefer not to try dating anymore to get to the end goal.

Nope. I’m not ashamed in the slightest. The problem in the US is that the sex act part is still illegal. I don’t claim to know all the laws behind it. As a divorced man, with two kids and one of which has special needs, and has custody 50/50, I’ve taken mostly L’s in the dating world most of the time because I have kids. Or I get everything you mentioned. I quit with the dating apps when a woman (presumably) was asking me to cash app her so she could buy Panda Express. And I COMPLETELY understan…

Yes! Thank you for putting this much more eloquently than I did. If you understand what you said beforehand, then how can you even be upset with how it plays out? I didn’t get screwed in my divorce and like you, I see so many posts where people are getting “screwed”. I’ve been seeing these podcasts or rather short clips of them, saying how risky it is for men. “You’re risking half of your stuff…”, is what I hear over and over. I get that, especially when adultery is the issue not committed by th…

I did something similar, except 50/50. Equity was somewhat similar and I paid her out. (I ended up selling when the market was hot and got damn near triple what I paid as it was foreclosure originally.). I was in Illinois when I divorced about 2 years ago. Courts won’t force you if that’s what you and ex agree to. I filled out a divorce decree and parenting plan. $300 later I was divorced within 2 months. We were separated for about 9 months before that. The paperwork isn’t hard to fill out at a…

Already did. I was actually refunded twice for the capstone class. I’m the States.

No. I had to drop in the last summer because we lost care for our son (ABA therapy). I had to drop again in the fall because again, my son and divorce and all that goes with that. This is it. I have two hours until I present for the end and I’m not prepared. I’m not going to pass. I am an accounting major. When I was laid off I didn’t know what to do so I just picked this as my old job would cover half of it. I’ve been a government auditor for 3 and half years. My problem is I just sit at a desk…

@alatornio and @playerknowmore nailed it. Don’t play those games and have the best relationship with your kids that you can. What you said is valid and you’re not wrong for thinking what your are. It’s ok. Your examples are different, but I can relate overall to what you’re saying. Without going into extreme detail, I’ll just say distance between my ex and I after she moved logistically made it extremely difficult for me as she did not help in transportation at all. And the way things worked out…

It’s weird isn’t it? We have kids and have to still parent closely with our special needs son who is 6 now. He has autism/ADHD. Anyway, she’s a special kind messed up and I still find her attractive. I don’t hate her, but I need to let it go. We slept together the other day as I stayed at her place to watch the kids so she could go to Christmas party. She came back late and tipsy. 😑 We’ve been apart almost 2 years. And I fucked her brains out. I thought I had ED. Guess I’m not over it yet. Anywa…

OP, I’m not either. I started messing with a dating app, and I quickly found out that I’m not quick to jump into bed nor do I want to court a female. I haven’t been single hardly at all since 16. 34 now. Since being separated in June of 21 and divorced of March of this year, this year this marks the longest time I’ve been single. I had a weird experience with one hookup around January. (I’ve never seen someone with so many plants in their house before). Another time over this past summer, I had …

It’s been crossing my mind. I’m 34, and about a year out of my marriage. Married 2, together almost 12. Prior to her, I had an absolute terrible experience with a woman that led to me being stalked for 2 years. (If you want to read this, I wrote it in detail in r/askmen. Just look through my history, you won’t be disappointed.) I have some good experiences with women though, whether that be hookups or whatever. But OP, what you laid out is exactly where I’m at. Except I have 2 kids myself. And I…

I just learned to do this and be ok with it. I do get a little joy that she doesn’t have some kind of control over me. I’ve only been replying about our kids. That’s it. “CaN yOu HeLp Me move into my new house?” Bitch please…

I think I could do FT, but getting that changed would be hard at this point. And in a lot of ways, even while we were together that’s how it felt at times. So, I could handle it. But: I’d need a lawyer. She does earn more She lives in a much better school district than I do. I’m not sure if the court would side with me, unless I can prove she’s not fit I believe.

Thanks for your comment man. I thought I was being abused or taken advantage even after we split. I started to think I was crazy.

It wasn’t an easy decision. I only did because she is good to our son, and where she moved is a significantly better school district. And the reason why I made the choices I did, like buying my house, was because I knew I could afford to live here comfortably and support my kids. Again, she’s the higher earner for now. We will be almost equal in a couple years. Just the flip flopping has cause me to make financial choices that I wouldn’t have otherwise. I absolutely am documenting this. And yes,…

Where do you get 80% of medical bills? Not trying to be a smart ass or anything. Basically, I plugged in numbers into our states CS calculator. Any childcare or medical expense not covered by insurance I will cover at a rate of 40% as that’s our ratio of combine pay. (Combine our annual income she makes 60% I make 40%, for now at least.)
/r/Divorce_Men08/11/22 01:56 AM

I’ll just be paying 50% of what’s not covered by insurance. We work for the same agency, but as she’s been there 2 years longer than I she makes more. I’ll catch up eventually. We’re both college educated professionals.
