Women have suffered historically, and that persistent discrimination doesn't go away overnight. It requires continued remembrance to avoid repeating the mistakes of the past. 1	"Talking to everyone" is boring and overrated. The scenarios you described where things just happened for you sound like house party situations. I personally think there is a totally different social dynamic at house parties as compared to going out to bars. For one, you were both invited, so you automatically have at least one mutual friend.
