I actually think this is okay, since it is pointing out a direct and blatant double standard. However, it is unusual and refreshing to see someone on any activism sub not trying to "fight back at all costs" and evaluate on a case-by-case basis what is useful and what isn't. Thanks for the response!

What do you mean by that? I don't disagree with what you just said, but my question is more about what other men do that make it more difficult for you to take those rights. You certainly can take them, but it is obviously easier if the world is on your side, and convincing people of your position is part (not all) of what the men's rights movement is about, right?

I can agree with that. I actually started this thread because I noticed that there are a lot of men who don't seem to think that men can be raped (by men or women), or shame men into not reporting it when it does happen. Yup. Herpes is very easily transmissible. That is why most people have HSV-1 (have you ever had a cankersore or coldsore? HSV-1 is "usually" in your mouth). The HSV-2 numbers are lower (stats vary from 1 in 4 Americans to 1 in 6). The common cold is also easy to catch. I would still rather have that than HIV. Herpes is actually not a huge deal. Most people never have symptoms, or symptoms so mild they don't notice, and a far larger portion of the American populace has it than a lot of people realize. You might have it and not know it. Worry about HIV instead.
