I have one who is married to a LVM. Honestly I make sure she knows she has a place for her and her kids to go if she ever leaves, but I've given up on talking to her about her husband. She gets defensive and is not worth it. I do try to invite her (and him, so he can't say he wasn't invited even if he never comes) to all social gatherings so she doesn't feel so isolated and beyond that, it's a long waiting game for her to realize she needs to dump him.

I've been in relationships like that and it will never get better than it is right now - you deserve your sanity and to not have to deal with that emotional burden! Don't feel bad for prioritizing yourself ❤

I love your deck building analogy! That's a good way to conceptualize the vetting process. Congratulations on your level up and successful relationship, queen!

This is something I also never realized until recently. My LV ex knew I was blind in one eye and so I asked him not to walk on that side. Especially in crowds I couldn't see him and it was really anxiety inducing - and despite all my reminding, he never took the hint! Now I know better than to put up with that kind of disrespect.

One of my LV exes was also in a wheelchair - he was one of the most extroverted, charismatic people I've ever met. Also a manchild and lovebomber, but he truly could talk to anyone about anything.

Haha I tried the rephrasing tactic with no success either. And yes - the ones who are like ooh you like to bake have no concept of time/effort, either. Like bruv that flawless cheesecake took all day to make, so let me dole it out to my family members or coworkers who value the effort it took to make it. I will gladly give my baked goods to women, but not to men anymore.

Ugh this! I have never had a positive experience where I've revealed to a man that I enjoy cooking/ baking - they always interpret that as I'll do all the cooking full stop! I've resolved to keep these interests a little more closely guarded going forward as a result.

Yeaaah his lack of enthusiasm isn't great. I understand if you're a person who hates surprises, but most people will still attempt a good reaction if it's someone they really care about!

I will say one couple has higher status jobs (anesthesia nurse and construction manager). The other couple has more blue collar jobs but make sacrifices to make finances work - but they decided to make those sacrifices together, and really hustle to make ends meet. Also yes, location plays a part! Ohio has a lower cost of living than the East or West coast, even if you live in a big city.

Replace $1000 in ammo with the $1000 PS5 and you'd have my ex! I also fell into complacency and in retrospect there were a lot of red flags I chose to ignore. Give yourself some grace and we'll get through this together!

Sad but true! I do know some HV couples who have children with developmental disabilities, but they are very few and far between.

Sis I literally just went through a relationship that was just like this. My ex is genuinely not a trash individual, but he did have qualities in retrospect that were LV that I should have nexted him for from the jump. If he and I had stayed together, I have no doubt I would have started to hardcore resent him for being complacent - and on reflection, I was secretly unhappy with him but rationalized a lot because he isn't your typical fuck boy or nice guy. In the end, even though it is hard init…

Woof how about no? Reminds me of my LVX who would make snide comments multiple times like "wow there's a lot of dishes in the sink". Like no shit, and if you simply can't wait until after eating to wash up then wash them yourself!

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
