Crossfit has helped me recover from a bad skiing injury. Fortunately, I know my limits and have an excellent trainer. I think part of the problem crossfit had is that people that wouldn't normally put a bar above their head now do it before they are properly conditioned to do so or without adequate coaching. That being said, in graduate school I went to a crossfit gym for a month and the trainers sat on their phones all class, so it's really who is directing class.
