Self improvement has enormous diminishing returns for dating. I feel like this only applies to a single field of "self improvement", the problem is that guys go into maximizer mode and start "maxxing". "Hit the gym" really means "go there 3 times a week for an hour, do some basic free weight/machine stuff, add weight/reps with time" to claim some easy noob gains, instead it turns into making gym your whole life and declaring yourself to be undateable until you look like an instagram model. Inste…

Because all the pill advice is aimed at nerds and boring guys who struggle with dating and have nothing to offer in their 20s, the blue guys just hate to say it outright (and it's not the girls being immature but the guys needing to grow up to offer anything at all) The guys who got laid throughout their life easily for the most part already had very low inhibition, high tolerance for failure and did some crazy stuff in their teens and 20s while the other group is still paralyzed by the possibil…

Mind giving me the correct one then? I literally never heard anyone wanting men to be "vulnerable" in real life, or it's really just another version of "be strong/competent enough to have the confidence to be more open". Coincidentally all the guys who admitted some insecurities to me in real life were some of the most competent, successful and amazing guys in every way while the weak, lazy, unsuccessful and insecure ones refused to open up at all (until they had a mental breakdown later on)

If I show all my vulnerabilities Is it really a vulnerability if it's not a viable attack vector for other people? At that point you could argue that a short man leaving his house is being vulnerable, I swear that it's just poor wording and what they really mean by "vulnerable" is "don't be a human black box"

The concept of "male vulnerability" does not exist in my own language therefore it's western bullshit perpetuated by overly anxious terminally online people. Never heard anyone say that men (or even women) need to be more vulnerable outside of the internet, actual vulnerability is simply never a good thing for anyone ever. The real life version of it is just "be more open" which is really just "I have this problem and it feels bad but I'll deal with it and move on" instead of insisting that ever…

For me, the difference would be my ability to sleep soundly at night. "Good" in that case equals highly conscientious and high conscience/high inhibition is a social disadvantage, especially for men. You might ask yourself "why be good" but the reality is that they cannot be anything else because like you said, they wouldn't be able to even sleep at night because of it.

They can believe that being a "good kind man" helps with dating It absolutely does...with a certain subset of women, just like being an arrogant fuckboy or even a criminal is very attractive to some women Nichemaxxing is king and resilience is insanely important when finding compatible women

It's another reddit internet thing where people automatically assume that you treat women like shit for some reason. Actually that's the answer to half of the questions you see on this subreddit, just internet weirdo stuff Literally never heard this irl

It's internet advice, just like the youtube go to is "lifting, nofap, meditation, journaling, reading, gratitude", the reddit advice is "hobbies" In real life, at least not in yankland, nobody cares about masturbatory self development and changing your interests just to meet women makes you look like a desperate loser

Dudes spend their entire teen years, obsessed with shit that will never get them friends or pussy like anime, video games and chronically on the internet and then wonder why they are always alone and have no social skills It's really hard to touch grass when you have to switch schools twice before you're even 10 due to issues with peers and even teachers, get kicked out of every playground and the parents simply don't see it as an issue and tell you to stay inside instead. It's not like well adj…

Men who don't do these things often don't associate or hang out with such people in the first place and the ones who do don't mind it or do the same so they say nothing, so jumping in front of a fist is about the only thing we can do

I think the biggest difference is the amount of options we have to waste time and become unattractive as a consequence. Back in the day, the nerd didn't have many options so the stereotype was more having good grades, academic interests and eventually a very nice career. Probably spent more time learning useful things, being social and was far more likely to turn things around at/after college. Now you'd have the same dude far more likely addicted to video games, drop out of college, go down the…

Has it ever been different though? I don't see how my father, grandfather or great-grandfather had it any different, possibly worse because being drafted to die in a bullshit war is far worse than any dating issues. We're just the first generations to complain about it on the internet. I find it ironic how the guys who criticize leftism and equality the most also often complain about dating being unfair for guys...they'd actually love 100% equality, it's just sadly not happening. If they really …

I've seen women shit on other men when in reality they really wanted the man to grow some balls and do better for themselves and there's not many ways to do it nicely. I agree that men should listen to women more...especially when they repeatedly and clearly give you signs that you are a loser because that's when the whole "watch what women do instead of listening to them" goes out of the window entirely. Realizing that you're a chump, accepting it and then working on fixing it is always better …

hence why I think some of the traditional Red Pill whiny type dudes have a point here. The replies here are why the redpill exists at all Getting to be a stepdad in your mid 30s despite being supposedly a great guy is an absolute garbage deal and men in these situations would be objectively better off being aware of their shortcomings early on and working to avert it before you get there. OP's story is actually one of the most positive ones I heard, all these cases I see IRL even in my own famil…

I've honestly never heard the "you need hobbies and friends to date" in real life that you see on Reddit all the time It's always be decently in shape, take care of yourself, have a career with a future, your finances together, have balls and confidence. Most people don't have that much time left to fully focus on a hobby or hang out with friends anyways

Isn't that a very extreme example, just like your business might fail so hard that you end up in jail due to insane debt? A lot of people in my family got divorced after having kids and all the men remarried just fine rather than ending up on the street, the chance that you do everything correctly and still get fucked is always there but at least you tried unlike the mgtow guys who got scared off immediately. Honestly anything is an upgrade over sitting on the internet in your 50s and living off…

Isn't this just traditional masculinity telling men that they're supposed to be less risk averse? Going full yolo and marrying someone immediately without any vetting is stupid (and what you could call "toxic" masculinity), but if you're so paralyzed with fear that you can't risk being disappointed by a woman you trusted and then giving up after one failure instead of getting up and trying again, it's really just a classic failure of masculinity and you will be rightfully treated as a loser. Wei…
/r/PurplePillDebate13/11/23 12:20 PM

Having the easy replacement in technology is half of the problem, the other half is not encouraging men to push through anxiety at all. All the crap they're told like "you're just fine the way you are" "you can't change your personality" "just keep studying and get your degree and things will work out". Some aspects of progressivism are fine but treating young boys like girls and pretending that things that you deem toxic will magically disappear in half of a generation was not one of them

Hence why the debt might not be very reasonable and probably the one thing you'll have to settle for. There's still a difference between going out for a drink or two once in a while vs being a full blown party animal, just like there is a lot of middle ground between expecting a 25 year old virgin and someone who is going through dudes like nothing. Drop it down to necessary debt + maybe one manageable mental problem and those requirements are very reasonable

This is...a lot. I mean seriously, what the fuck? You want someone who doesn't have a social life, doesn't have debt (ruling out a fuckload of educated women), doesn't have any mental health issues (again, excluding at least 30% of the genpop). Is it? The only unreasonable one might be the debt if OP lives in a country where college is expensive, the rest is really just someone who doesn't live the yolo life style. It's more or less a package deal, a lot of women don't go clubbing, those also of…

Eastern and Central Europe have shit TFR. Germanys TFR not counting immigrants is probably close to 1. Isn't that mostly due to having kids later in life and economical decisions? It's not like we're mega trad, women want careers and to be independent but the whole "child-free" deal (which isn't even a word here) really isn't a thing, though where I live we're at 1.83 and we didn't have a whole lot of immigrants

Seems the same over here in central/eastern Europe Women are still honest about wanting strong men and what they say they want aligns with the reasonable part of the red pill, the vast majority still want kids, even the ones who hated kids in their 20s completely flip once they hit 30 Either the western world is really that fucked or it's just the internet exaggerating things, if it's real, the passport bro behavior makes sense to me

I mean, to a certain extent I agree that you should aim to have your life together. Of course you're more attractive if you've got the basics of adulthood nailed down. I perfectly understand why a woman would be put off if you haven't. But it's certainly not as clear cut, nor is it as high a bar, as many women (online) claim. Most people, men and women, are just getting by with what they have, and that's good enough. These ridiculous demands and claims that "you just have to be better, come back…

So stop pissing in his face and telling him it's raining, because that makes you the socially unaware asshole. I've honestly never seen that in real life either, I'd just tell you to get off this subreddit because it really is just BlackPillNonDebate with the ridiculous standards I see around here listed as "basic requirements" The only things I hear in real life: not confident enough, not attractive enough (honestly fixable by dating in your league), not having his shit together (own place, car…

But I got one of those things fixed. I got the certificates. I got the degree. I undid that damage. The social side, though? That's far more difficult to rectify. All my mates and many people my age are busy with their partners and home lives and the work necessary to pay for that. All my colleagues likewise. I can't grow a social life from barren soil, no matter how many seeds I plant. I feel like the "no social skills" is a bullshit internet argument to gaslight people, just like "no personali…

"Getting your shit together" is usually done for a woman Most men are otherwise perfectly fine with living in a half empty apartment while working a decent job and throwing all their money at hobbies that women usually don't even approve of (guns, motorbikes) I've honestly never seen a woman around me who didn't have to get her man under control in some way. The guys who are considered a catch are generally those who have enough money, cooperate and adjust their lives according to her At the end…

standard things. Being nice, having a job, car, apartment having a personality, hobby At least where I live it is absolutely not a standard and I see a lot of women having to compromise even on this

Apparently, a lot of guys have perverted, older family members telling them that niceness make pussies wet. They never look up to good men with wives These are possibly connected, being nice and having your shit together as a man is absolutely enough at 30+ if you really lower your standards and just want to start a family, from what I hear from women dating prospects past 30 are pretty damn bleak and most single men can't even manage these two, there's a solid chance that the "good man" in your…

Source. Personal experience from playing games with higher female populations and hanging out in groups related to them In all the international LARPs and local LARPs I go to, it's about 50/50. (dnd games are self selected so not a good metric, the LARPs are open to anyone who buys a ticket.) 50/50 is an insanely good ratio for a "nerdy" activity, some games like Genshin Impact also have a 45% female population? Sounds like you struggle to connect with people if they don't like things exactly th…

The real answer is that there is a male/female divide even in nerd shit Nerdy male shit is more technical, challenge oriented, hard numbers Female nerd shit is more story/character/art focused, probably higher representation in LARP, roleplay and DND stuff I know women who are technically into the same games I play but they enjoy them in completely different ways to the point where we don't really have a common interest Nothing wrong with it but wanting a nerd gf seems like setting yourself up f…

I think the issue people have is mainly seeing the overly "toxic"/risk taking men having more success than the overly passive ones even though in theory they are not "bad" in any way and the former is bound for jail. And then the more progressive groups really hate to admit it because not being toxic is supposedly #1

It's less something you're describing that you would straight up call a bad person and more men who have at least slight aggressive tendencies or a bit of an edge. Pretty much all of the men I've seen around me who didn't ever have issues dating have some kind of story about having wilder young years and then settling down a bit, getting in fights once in a while when drunk, etc., nothing too crazy but the traits are there and a lot of them grow out of it. Meanwhile all of the slightly weird, in…

Because some people are losers and life isn't fair Self improvement channels/gurus try to market it as some way to become an ubermensch when it's really just for losers who have to try REALLY hard to get to where most people get naturally in their teenage years. It's eye opening when you see people in the mid-late 20s who play a lot of video games, admit to having a porn addiction and do all sorts of other shit you'd be ashamed to do yet they had no issues with dating before they even turned 18.…

So? Who did that to you? Not me. What do you want me to do? Not my responsibility. Stop fucking whining, get the PlayStation controller out of your ass, and get off the couch. Touch grass. Autistic? Anxious? Abused? Tough shit, not my problem, get good, scrub. Nothing is ever as hard as you claim it is, your experiences are irrelevant, or you must've mis-experienced them somehow. I think this is half of the reason why so many unsuccessful men lean right wing, you cannot possibly take this "advic…

This is literally one of the most toxic things out there It absolutely is by today's standards but it's a tried and tested approach that works and there's not much you can do about this one

Men are not supposed to complain about anything period, if you hate something then do something to change it instead of complaining about it. If it fails, you are supposed to put in more effort. If it still somehow fails, you are simply a loser, everything is working as intended and you should retreat back to games and porn instead of annoying everyone with complaining. Very simple
