I re-signed my lease on my apartment for another year this week. It still feels surreal sometimes that it's been a year. It took me about 3 months to settle in and get past the "survival mode" as you call it. I took what was left of me and began adding back positives. I reached out to old friends and made new ones over the summer. It was important for me to set boundaries for myself. I still grieve a year later. I'm not sure if you ever really stop grieving for your lost life, but it does lessen…
