This has happened to me too. Just explain that just like there are times she’s not in the mood, you also have times you’re not in the mood. If she’s understanding and intelligent in the slightest, she won’t be rude or offended about it. My wife became one of the understanding types after I explained it this way to her.

To your point about sewage, I design sewers/pipelines. There were exactly 0 women in my department when I was hired, out of maybe 8 people. Now there’s 2 out of 10. If men didn’t exist the engineering field would probably be cut to about 20% of its current employment rate. There would absolutely be failing sewer systems if only a fifth of engineering positions were filled.

LE and military spending is hardly the issue when it comes to spending, we pass so much pork every day that doesn’t need to be spent. Billions to other countries and kickbacks to random pals of politicians. Billions to businesses and art museums that don’t really need it. Bare bones spending on LE and military and infrastructure should be allowed, but not much else.

Let me get this straight... you think it’s okay for the government to hang onto your tax money and distribute it as a “rainy day fund” in case you ever need it? Instead, why not just lower or eliminate taxes and allow people to KEEP their money and then use their savings as their own rainy day fund?

You don’t need the internet for social activities. I’d say delete your accounts, use it just for web surfing and work and just call/text your friends and family. Create new accounts under pseudonyms if you feel you need to. You don’t deserve the internet backlash, but people are awful and will do it to you anyway. Best to just find a means of ignoring them before it happens.

That’s probably because Harry Potter is actually a (pretty well-disguised) dystopian series. You can see the same themes in other dystopian books like the Hunger Games series, 1984, et cetera. Media is controlled by those in power and the people follow blindly along either due to ignorance of the truth or due to an intentional willingness to believe what they know to be misinformation.
