If you scroll down in this article there is a pic of real women “helping” shop for a wedding dress...

I saw his Instagram once and the really crazy part is the amount of people who attend the “wedding”

The two that pretended are among some of the more memorable people I ever met while dancing. Both did the same thing, they waited until we were walking away from the table after their friends had paid me, and as we walked to the vip area they both said something like “strip clubs aren’t my thing, I really don’t want a dance, can we just talk and tell my friends we did?” Male friends are very pushy in this environment so I understand why they just played along. I think men like that only get wors…

Makes me feel like I’m on a much better path in general, nothing messy happened. I enjoyed spending time with him. The ending was clear. Even though it didn’t work out it wasn’t unhealthy and that is huge improvement for me.

In my years as a stripper every bachelor party that came in would force the bachelor to get a dance. Only two in the entire 9 years asked me to just tell their friends I did, no funny business and they told me about their wedding plans and honey moon in the time they were supposedly getting a lap dance. Every other one was a complete and total pig.

When I say commitment, he saw long term dating and being of course monogamous. I would like to get married. Since we were just “dating” and didn’t talk about marriage right away. So a couple months in when we started sharing longer term plans we realized we weren’t compatible in an important way.

Maybe just be the person that asks about her interests, compliments things other than her appearance. Sounds simple but growing up I can remember everyone always asking if I had a boyfriend, on my weight (if I was too skinny or if I looked like I gained weight) the older women in my family always talked about these things. My mom has a friend who literally never brought up anything superficial, she would ask what I was reading, about my friends instead of if I liked someone, that type of thing. …

I think this shows true strength. My weakness used to be sticking around and hoping they would just change. A while ago I was seeing a very nice guy who was very successful, very nice to me, always had creative dates planned, there really wasn’t a downside. A few months in I found out he really wasn’t looking for any commitment, and I think the old me would have tried to “win” him. It felt kind of good to just be able to walk away. At also kind of sucked because I have not come across men like h…

Fries Green Tomatoes. There is a romantic sub plot but it’s about women getting stronger with female friendship. It’s an older movie and has its problematic moments and trigger warning assault. But the women it follows lift each other up a lot. And the focus is more on that than and LVM characters. Edit: Also, National Velvet, it’s an old Elizabeth Taylor movie, deals with sexism but she is the main character. It’s a “horse girl movie” but it is not about romance and very sweet.

I stopped OLD after like three different guys told me all my Instagram pics look like different people. I change my hair color and style often, it just made me feel bored and pre-annoyed

Some girls try really hard to come off as “normal” truth is almost no one without major issues end up there. Including the men in porn. I’ve been around the adult industry for the last ten years and this is a lie sold to make people more comfortable with exploiting people.

Back away completely. I’ve had a handful of friends over the years bring this up and even when you shut it down there’s really no coming back from it.

This is spot on. My ex’s father was married to five different women. 2 kids each with four and one with the last. All the ex wives had drama with each other. His dad was very emotionally unavailable and when his dad passed away my ex completely unraveled. As sad as it was it turned everything dangerous. And when I left him, his mom said to me I should “pick my battles better.” On top of it my ex and his mom were bizarrely close.

I would personally not be okay this. But on top of it I think it is tacky when people leave the price stickers on gifts in general.

Do not waste your breath on men like this. They KNOW, they’re just not doing it.

I completely agree. I have seen people with very serious injuries but not all over the entire body like this. It’s usually limited to where they fell or the horse fell on them. Plus in this video when she shows her arm it looks like a hand mark, like someone grabbed her.

To be fair, they learned from our grandmothers and great grandmothers who were often trapped with the first guy the ended up with. Having a community like this where we are not as isolated as generations before is a huge improvement.

Yes. I know my experience probably isn’t typical but my ex’s obsession with porn went from interacting with porngirls on social media and gaslighting me about it, until it escalated into him actually filming with some of them, when I found out I left. But desensitization is very real. He told me when I was leaving he got to the point he was watching it on mute in bed next to me in the morning while I was still sleeping. Someone with this addiction will get to the point that they don’t respect bo…

I love this feeling. Knowing you want to do something and then just accomplishing it! Isn’t it amazing how a 20 min activity can uplift you so much?

In my experience everything escalates with a LVM. There is no conversation, even when it feels like there is some dialogue it’s dismissive.

Can I ask what has been working for you for therapy? I’m interested in trying something new. That’s sort of how I have felt about therapy. Thank you so much! All the kind words here really make me feel better.

That actually really gives me hope about therapy. I have to been hesitant but I will look for someone who specializes in those things. I never thought of age being a factor but I’m going to keep that in mind because in the past very different generational life views was totally a factor. I will definitely be cautious. I know he won’t stay patient forever but he just isn’t in a rush and a lot of how he interacts with other people and me shown he’s different. My problem has never been not being ab…

Yes I read it but I get myself kind of in my head about these things. I’m trying to undo a lot of my thought processes. It’s not that I don’t want to be skeptical, I never want my guard that low again. But I do want to get to the point I’m comfortable with someone I’ve been seeing for a while to be able to pick me up at my house. Admittedly I did not go to therapy during the year and half but I made a lot of life changes that improved my self esteem somewhat. It was nice not even thinking about …

I couldn’t believe what I was hearing from some of my then friends. One told me I wasn’t openminded enough and maybe he was bored!? I for the life of me couldn’t understand why he wouldn’t have just broken up with me or at least told me so I had a choice in my life. The amount of people that will bend over backwards to validate the porn industry is stomach turning. Thank you for sharing some of your story. I forget sometimes that I am not in this alone. I can be hard on myself about timelines an…

I grew up with a really successful mother and she did everything herself and my dad came and went my entire life. Moving in and out, never working. She would buy him a car, pay for classes when he said he was going to go, etc. When he got bored of this he moved back in with her at 60 and she has said to me she is happy is one of the only ones of her friends not divorced! I’m not blaming them, it’s just been hard to learn that bending and breaking to please a man is no way to live. It’s been real…

Thank you so much for saying that. I think of myself as weak sometimes for allowing these things in my life. I know you’re right, I’m going to make the goal of trying to find the right type of therapist this week. I lost three years dealing with him and I don’t want to cost myself anymore.

No, I find guys that do this have found it’s an easy way to appear like a “good guy.” I would rather sincere communication. Not something he is doing like a chore and probably does with four other people.

My ex asked me to marry him about two months in. I accepted but I kept putting off the wedding and I am so glad I did. I was 24 and so excited at first but you realize when they’re in a rush they’re just trying to trap you.

I’ve been a stripper for years. Poor lifestyle choices have kind of finically cornered me, but I’m almost out. When I started most women I worked with were there to hustle the shit out of men “take from them because they would take anything from you kind of attitude” getting paid a lot to go out on a dinner date or shopping spree. In the last two years since it has been opened up on Instagram and or other social media its “don’t judge me because you won’t suck a dick for 20 dollars.” “We all do …
