yeah it's tough,i work 6 days a week and had to pay for before school and after school club so i could go to work ( at a cost of over £25,000) for my little girl. not much time to yourself as "free time" is shopping ,cleaning,homework etc. but now she is in secondary school and starting to develop a little independence it is getting easier. unfortunately we lost mum when little one was 5 years old ,but you would be suprised what you can achieve when you have to. totally worth it.

hi ,i've been a single dad for over six years,it has beeen tough at times but you just have to push through.i am lucky in the fact that my daughter is very independant,she has had to be.she and i have weathered some storms ,so to speak .one of the things that scared me the most was the transition from child into woman(if you know what i mean),but we both have handled it well and there is no embarassment on either side.i am so proud of her.

47 years old and widowed here mate.the first 12 months are the hardest,you have to find something to keep you busy.join a group,find a new interest,find a new routine. regarding your son,just because he is far away geographically doesn't mean he has to be emotionally,why not get into a game you can play online together.i'm not talking battlefield, C.O.D, or WoW, unless that's something you're into.there are tons of games you can play online,i sometimes play online scrabble with my sister,it help…
