It varies by country and even by state. Rape in one state, drive a 100 miles to the next state and you're fine. The law gives you the ability to drive a car (an activity that causes thousands of deaths per year) at 16, and the same law prohibits your ability to explore your own sexuality with someone abit older for 2 more years. Because everything you said depends on where in the world you live. Plenty of countries have age of consent at 16, and some even younger. Therefore, this shit is pretty arbitrary and based on cultural perspectives and moral constructs.
