Did I say that? No. Do I believe that? No. A bit silly to put words in my mouth then argue against them.

Fully serious, my guy. I'm curious what word you'd use for it?

What word would be more fitting?

I think this kind of thing varies a lot depending where you are in the world. I think OP and most of the commenters are coming from a sincere place - as a woman, I actually had to think about if I've ever been slut shamed or known my female friends to be... And I have never personally seen this happen in my own life. I have definitely had my share of non-committal flings, and anyone I've told about them has not cared in the slightest (or some women have cheered for me I guess). But I also believ…

Sorry what lmao. You are so off base (I agree with the post and most of the comments but this one is so detached from reality)

Even if it's mainly female perpetrators, it's still misogyny.

Not sure, maybe it depends on your root cause. And I get the sense that someone who's had it since childhood (so perhaps a lifelong chemical imbalance) might be harder to treat. I've just given up on them tbh

I'm a woman and I've never found a good therapist. Honestly I just don't think my problems (lifelong depression and anhedonia) are that treatable

Fair enough, keen to hear the rest of your perspective. In terms of the DV stats, this is my source: https://www.missionaustralia.com.au/domestic-and-family-violence-statistics . 1 in 6 women Vs 1 in 16 men have experienced violence by an intimate partner. If you have a different source claiming otherwise, please let me know. Thanks for those other points about male homicide rates, and the underreporting of male sexual assault due to technicalities. These facts often get overlooked (including by…

Good points, thanks for sharing. To answer your question, yes, I would say it has been a minority of men who have said things that vulgar to me. Tradies are generally known amongst women as a particularly offensive demographic (apologies to tradies who aren't like that, this is just a common experience), and aren't representative of my experiences with most men. Could you give me examples of what you mean by most men are invisible? As someone who is not a man, I'd like to hear your experiences. …

This is an interesting point. I agree, women do seem to me to be more organised/supportive of each other than men online. The amount of times I have heard "men have no right to speak on this topic" is ridiculous. Men get shut down when talking about issues they face publicly, and are ostracised if they make their own private communities to talk about their issues. Sure there might be exceptions, like followers of Joe Rogan and Andrew Tate, but these people fall on the extreme end of the spectrum…

Interesting. Coming from a place of trying to to understand (reading through this sub the past few days has been very eye opening for me, and given me a lot to think about), I want to counter this and say that in my experience I have felt very powerless next to "the avg joe laying brick". As a teenage girl, some of these "average joe"'s would call out to me while I was walking home in my school uniform, calling lewd things out to me. It made me feel scared and powerless. Walking past groups of t…

I have been going through a lot of posts in this sub recently to gain a more balanced view of men's problems. It has been very eye opening, and I have realised a number of flaws in modern feminism - particularly how it minimises and discounts gendered issues men are victim to. I agree with most of what has been said in this post and the comments, however this comment doesn't make sense to me. Most women in western culture work full-time jobs, and prefer it this way. Stay-at-home mums represent a…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
