This could or could not be a shit test... What was the inflection in her voice? How did she smile? If it was just a "between you and me" little moment it could likely be the "you're an asshole but I love it" moment.

Thanks to you and strategis for the replies. I realize I'm too focused inwards in looking at all of this from the "game" perspective. I need to focus on the core as self improvement and leadership as opposed to the chessboard landscape mindset I've been in. It's also helpful to recognize that though my selfish motivation is towards TRP, I need to make the distinction between that and what I need to be as MRP.

That's part of the problem. I did just this. It didn't take me more than a day for my mind to unplug after I found TRP. It was immediate realization of the guy I used to be and how I had let all the beta indoctrination creep in. But I swung too far to one side and she's had trouble keeping up. It's been a bit of a roller coaster so I'm trying to dial back the asshole and dial up the playful. It's a tough balance because for me, my selfish desire is to be TRP. But for my family, I need to be MRP.

This resonates with me as well. Just last night She threw a half joking barb at me, which I recognized as playful, albeit also a very softball shit test. So of course I agreed and escalated with a witty, playful retort. She then smiles and comments that I used to be more humble, to which I just half smirk/chuckle and then onto the next topic. What I took away from that though is the "I'm noticing you right now... You're different from the past". And I could tell there was just a slight inflectio…

I discovered TRP just shortly before we had our second child. Life is crazy and I'm fucking tired. All. The. Time. I lose that mental and physical energy that allows me to be clear headed in maintaining frame. I need to find that life balance that will both keep my head above water and allow me the reserves to step my shit up.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
