"A horse that has raced, a dog that has tracked, a bee that has made honey [...] - none of these knows what they have done, but they pass on to the next action [...]. So you ought to be one of those who, in a sense, are unconscious of the good they do." - M. Aurelius #Motivation #Discipline

There comes a time where the grief you hold that which you use as part of how you define yourself, has a negative impact on your life. Let it go. You are your own worse enemy. Yes, people, family have abused you. You WERE a victim. Maybe it was hard for you to say good bye to them, to leave the nest, to explore the world on your own, but that has to happen; in such a situation. You must cut out the dead weight. The losers. Get rid of them. Forgive them. Forgive yourself. There are cycles of hate…

What I dislike the most about New Age Positivism is what you are touching on.... "roll with the punches" Always, stand up for yourself. You don't need to be a dick about it, a simple "No" may suffice, but being overly positive to the point that you don't stand up for yourself, has negative consequences for your mind. It will weaken it.

Where does that definition come from? Personally, I see "shadow" as my dark side. My hate, my resentment, my bitterness. My lust for power based on manipulation, revenge, and spite. More time I spend in my shadow, more time I slowly waste my life with weak emotion. Shadow can bring power, it can help you through difficult shit, especially at the beginning of going from blue to red (pill), but in the long run, it's something to Master, not to be the Slave of. If you are planning revenge on someon…

Good job, man! Keep it up As per meditating, have you heard of Deprivation Tanks? They help a lot with learning meditation, practicing meditation, and physical restoration. I highly recommend it, in this lively noisey world that we live in. Groupon tends to be a decent place to look for coupons for local services. They can be called float tanks... They are epsom salt baths designed to isolate you from input like sound, light, and the sensation of gravity to some extent (it's more dispersed when …

Damn man. I'm glad you found your way. Being open to one's own nature is crucial. Once I accepted myself for who I am, things got a lot easier. Abuse in the family, sexual, emotional, physical all have major implications on the minds of children. Sad that most of it is cyclical. My Mother emotionally abused me when I was at my weakest (post rape). It sucked. But I know she's just doing what her Mother would do. It's like it's taken the invention of the Internet for people to finally link up to s…

I haven't met a single psychiatrist that didn't make me feel like they were playing me in some kind of game. They were all male. This doesn't pertain only to Female psychiatrists. Once I tried to get help, and the Male psychiatrist misdiagnosed me within 15 minutes of meeting me. The pills he gave me fucked my head over slowly in the coming months. It was a disaster. Gender need not apply here. Most Psychiatrists, from my experience, are middle men between you and the big pharma. I don't care wh…

Sometimes in regular life, the business advice of "no good deed goes unpunished", applies. Shitty but true

Absolutely! I've found that habits which increase my focus, sharpening it like a blade, with each new day, has some of the widest spreading benefits of all time. From no-fap, exercising, to pacing myself at work, we need to do what it takes to stay sharp in a very unclear world

Strange, the passive game of not giving a fuck works great for me... It's when I try to be there for a particular girl, she'll get nervous, it's too serious or something... then push me away as some "beta" When I don't try to attract, then I'm like a magnet. I work out almost every day, eat healthy, dress well, etc. Focus on yourself, focus on your career, focus on being the best person that you can be, the rest falls into place.

Two things 1) Reminds me of the victim mentality. The "hurt" ones show up here, and find from the knowledge another thing or person to blame for their misfortune. The victim mentality prevents people from helping themselves. It prevents change. It's an excuse, not to try. 2) Misery loves company

Agreed. I couldn't get over the sensation that the author is venting, pointing fingers like an angry toddler who had his toy stolen.

No more Mr Nice guy has excercises built in to practice with close friends and loved ones. You might be able to start with that, but I'm sure someone else can make a better recommendation. Also, it would help if you tell us what your trying to get out of this. All these books provide helpful things for various aspects of life

I've read "Danger & Play" by Cernovich. Good read. Thought about trying Gorilla Mindset, but got distracted by other books

Or better yet, by the same author, "Outwitting the Devil" - Napoleon Hill

Just recommended that book by Seneca in another comment. I highly agree

Big fan of Stoicism. If you need more, Seneca's "Letters from a Stoic" is an easy & fantastic read

"The way of Men", #10 listed above, isn't very good. At least I didn't like it. I've read three others in this list, which are all way better. Way of Men felt like an outdated model that was full of hidden anger about mainstream society's direction. Less helpful, more finger pointing

This is the best advice in this thread, thus far OP. Self-discipline in the form of an exercise like Martial Arts, Karate, Dancing, etc. These practices instill a greater sense of self-control, which helps everyone be more in control of a situation. In my experience, controlling situations, others in order to be perceived as the Alpha is founded in self-control. When you control your emotions, when you don't react to things, but instead take a proactive approach to life and things, the rest typi…
