Is she a perfectionist? I am to an extent, in fact I'll admit to redoing stuff like that after my wife (especially counters). It's a little OCD on my part. I would ignore it, maybe she can't help herself.

Well I can only describe what works for me. Your mileage may vary... House stuff - you're ahead of the game if you can handle light electrical/plumbing. Over 15 years and three houses I've picked up new skills in small increments. I'm lucky in that my wife enjoys some tasks that I don't, like painting and finishing drywall. YouTube is your friend. Tile for example isn't that bad, but it is time consuming and takes attention to detail. My first tile project was a stair landing, then I tackled ent…

Been there. You're lacking in leadership. Do you seek approval for house projects or do you just go and execute? Do you have a plan for every weekend or do you wait to be told what the family will be doing? Stop asking and start doing. Always have a plan. I've been applying this to the bedroom and everywhere else. No more "down" days at home. Always have something mentally charted out that needs to be done. Me, I maintain the cars and the house so there is always something. I fucked up when we m…

24/7 Frame - I'm not all the way there yet but I absolutely identify. I find myself constantly examining my frame and demeanor. Two years into this and a healthy dose of STFU is often enough. I visualize a lighthouse in a storm. Stand fast and let the waves churn and recede. Small gains add up to big gains. When I started doing things for myself and not getting shit for it I knew I was on the right track.

Yes. I wrestled in middle and high school, then dabbled in judo in college and beyond. I've carried many of the lessons from wrestling into adulthood. Perseverance through adversity is something many never truly experience and wrestling delivers it in spades. My son, who is six, tried wrestling this summer at a camp - all basics, very low key. He enjoyed that and we're trying the local youth league this fall/winter. He is high-energy and will benefit greatly. Remains to be seen if he really has …

Only way I get anything done these days. Either divide and conquer on the weekend or sometimes I'm forced to work on shit on weeknights as well. Between sports and family obligations and activities on the weekends, it's rare I get an entire day much less two to focus on a task around the house. Fortunately we're both into DIY and my wife appreciates the cost savings of taking care of our own shit. So yeah power through your fatigue and make the time.

Don't admit to anything beyond the desire to improve yourself. Or better say nothing, although that didn't seem natural to me. You kinda fucked up by admitting you like the increased attention. When I lost a few pounds and dropped a pant size she picked up on it. I got compliments and doses of "no one told you to do this" in equal measure. Then I bought free weights and have been hitting them daily. Last time we had sex she said "I can feel more of your bones (referring to my back) now, please d…

Thanks. Yeah it isn't going to happen unless the stars align. Nor would I want it to, unless I was pretty certain it would work out OK and without recriminations. She came out and said she'd 'consider' the possibility the night of the original talk, although a few days later she asked that I not bring it up again (after bringing it up). You met the basic preconditions. As for me, I have work to do. She doesn't want to please me in that way, although I know she's thinking about it. And I do think…

Did anal ever come up in conversation before? Had you ever asked for it? My story (not the ending) is similar to yours. Anal came up "organically" about two weeks ago (it was part of an otherwise unfunny standup routine on Netflix) and we had a discussion. Bottom line was she was shocked at my interest, as she is viscerally opposed to it (married 16 years). Despite that she seemed resigned that it was going to happen (not ideal) and even floated the possibility the following morning that we coul…

My experience after a year and a half at this is, my wife appreciates me getting stuff done. I don't make any grand announcements about it or ask permission. Most importantly I don't do it with any reward in mind. During slow times (like winter) she gets noticeably more bitchy when there is less work getting done around the house. While I try to be outcome independent, I have found occasion to playfully banter about my current projects in the bedroom. It's all in the approach. Maybe you don't ca…

Your hobbies, interests? Need to get something going that you own alone. In my case I dropped my hobbies by the time my first child was a few months old. I now realize my mistake, however at the time my wife quit her shit too and I was still Blue Pill. OK, so no basement. Garage? Do you do any DIY stuff around the house or with the cars? If so don't stop, just make time for it. If you don't do any of that stuff, find something to get started with. A room she wants to get painted maybe. Or better…

So true. I find myself getting so concerned about staying stoic and looking for a shit test under every rock, that I can lose sight of the fun factor. Just yesterday my wife sent me a text that told she probably was in need of some comfort. When she got home I made the remark that 'Hey I've been very bad, you look great today and it took me all day to tell ya', followed by a kiss. She was genuinely happy to hear it and I saw that flicker in her eyes. Tellingly she helped me with chores all eveni…

Amazing how STFU works. Not just the shutting up part but also fully removing yourself from the situation. I used it at home recently after making an approach for sex (at 4 PM when we had some downtime before hosting some friends). Wife shot me down, I just said 'OK I'm going to go workout' and went to get changed fully expecting that the exchange was over. She followed me upstairs like I had her on a leash. To my surprise. I'm inspired by your post. Had an opportunity to try C&R last week at th…

This made me think of my in-laws. Your buddy may be blue pill, but my FIL is what I'd call a natural Alpha and my MIL does everything for him. Packs his bags for trips, makes all arrangements, etc. I'd bet a paycheck he's never had to call the barber himself. He didn't lift a finger while my wife and her siblings were growing up, leaving my MIL to do 100% of the domestic stuff. Granted they're both around 70 now so this may be more generational. But its striking how 1950's they were (and are). F…

I've had a similar thing happen after a memorable encounter. They go outside the norm in bed and decide to reel it back a little, to prevent our expectations from skyrocketing. Really it may just reflect insecurity on her part, a fear that she can't sustain the intensity. I look at it as cyclical...you can't be at the top of the wave every time. We work to smooth out the valleys and push the wave tops higher.

Yeah. I was going to caveat that in my comment but neglected to. Her words and we know what that's worth.

I think the idea that Trump was revolting to women was clearly oversold. Discussing this with my wife, she revealed some RP truth. Her attitude is that she expects a man with his wealth and (perceived) power to behave boorishly to an extent and to take liberties (the whole 'grab her by the pussy' blowup). Going further, she reasoned all those women who came forward at the 11th hour never reported anything at the time was because they actually liked it (at least a little). We went a little deeper…

Cable - cut the cord completely. I have an antenna on the roof for free over-the-air network TV, and Netflix and Hulu for everything else. Cell phone - dump the major carrier and go with a prepaid monthly provider like Red Pocket. I pay $30/month for unlimited talk and text. 500 MB data. Turn down the fucking thermostat. Don't need it to be 65 all summer and 75 all winter. My settings are almost the reverse, generally 75 in summer and 66 in winter. Learn basic car maintenance and repair. Put you…

The breakthrough for me came after I read MMSLP and stopped giving a shit about her enjoyment. Funny thing happened, she is liking sex more now than in years. I manhandle her now and get the positions I want, and she is as compliant as Gumby. I stopped asking and started taking. Your brain cramp may have stopped your own breakthrough. Yeah she is going to be surprised when you take charge and flip her over. Thing is she may have been quite pleasantly surprised but you shut down. I'd keep quiet a…

Absolutely. Increased my workout frequency and stopped keeping beer in the house in January. Immediately started losing weight. I started to look better in the mirror, and found my day-to-day confidence was boosted tremendously. Started carrying myself more upright and mindfully projecting confidence in public. Detecting more IOI's ever since. Finally translated this to the bedroom, where I have figured out (after 18 years and the help of MMSLP) that she really likes to be taken decisively and a…

Ah yes. I did say 'helping' clean up. To be clear it was with the kids too. Great post man. I've written and then deleted a dozen replies to posts here. But yours really captures how I'm seeing and experiencing life now.

I need to print this post out and tape it to my bathroom mirror. I am trying to be the change I want to see in my world. Simple as that. I'm discovering that the entire world is just a mirror. As I adjust my attitude and behavior I notice a corresponding external change. Not all the time and not every time. But this applies to work, home, my kids, my wife, the bedroom. I'm not getting enough affection? Maybe I wasn't GIVING any. OK, well now when Mrs. Openwheelr gets home every night guess who i…

Stay strong. Unplugging here also..marriage isn't a total shit show by any means either, but our sex life has taken quite the hit since kids entered the picture. I've been making internal attitude adjustments, doing more just for me, and started to deflect and shut down shit tests months ago. I recently finished reading NMMNG too. Inspiring isn't it? I've found the rewards are starting to trickle in. Patience is key at least for me. We have to work to improve on multiple levels simultaneously, w…

Thank you for this. I'm always telling myself "marathon, marathon". I read here. A lot. Working out more. The more I read the more I realize how many clues to RP she has been dropping over the years (I was too fucking BP to understand). I now know she WANTS to be led. She WANTS actions not words. She WANTS me to stand up to her. Even if she isn't fully aware of these things herself. Case in point. She came home yesterday from three nights away at a conference. Walks in the door pissed off and ti…
