New studies indicate why women hate men and it is very telling.I think the point is that women might have that list for you, but then complain that men have unrealistic expectations when we even hint that the woman should 1. Have a career 2. Go to the gym/maintain fitness 3. Go to therapy for their issues 4. Give their man compassion and care. It's hard for it to be a one way street. | /r/Divorce_Men | 27/09/25 10:15 PM
Trying to stay amicable, how to tell mutual friends? You should make a pact to tell people the same thing. My ex and I were able to maintain our mutual friends by not telling different stories for the cause of the breakup. You will both have different perspectives but if you can agree on one story it's easier for everyone to move on. | /r/Divorce_Men | 26/07/25 06:06 PM

My wife wants a divorce and we’re still living in the same house. I feel like I’m losing everything.Be the man you should have been all along. It might not save anything but it's the only way you "might". Don't be petty or petulant or pitiful. Be strong, positive, supportive. Show you respect her and if this is what she wants you'll be a man and make the best of it, even if you don't agree. There's a slim chance, if you're present and positive, that she changes her mind. | /r/Divorce_Men | 14/04/25 02:37 PM
Coming out OK on the other side financiallyYeah, she had all the retirement savings and I put a lot into the house, thinking we'd be good together in the end. Plans change. | /r/Divorce_Men | 08/01/25 10:11 PM

Coming out OK on the other side financiallyNo. Her 401K and Pension are valued at $385,000 current dollars. With the equity in the house and my investments that roughly equals the $385,000. After I refinance I will have $40,000 in cash, but I will have less equity, which I'm fine with. | /r/Divorce_Men | 08/01/25 09:42 PM
Just Wondering - Were you warned about Divorce?Well, I'm a friend if you need to vent bro. | /r/Divorce_Men | 02/09/24 03:25 AM
Just Wondering - Were you warned about Divorce?Mine told me OFTEN "I don't think there's anything that would make us divorce" so I lived my life feeling that if there was an issue so severe, we would tackle it together. Then she tells me she wants out and isn't willing to go to therapy or try at all. Says that when she said that it was to convince herself despite being unhappy. I'm like, then why didn't you say you were unhappy!!?? | /r/Divorce_Men | 02/09/24 02:04 AM
Walkaway Wife... How to find peace?I am in this same situation. Although she was less explicit than your wife and we didn't get to couples therapy... I wish we had. I've known we had problems, that I had issues, for years. I guess I figured we'd work on them together once the kids were older and needed less constant care. That we are good enough partners and care about each other enough to at least try. But she dropped the bomb on me and is done. Doesn't want to rehash, doesn't want to work on it. Just wants out. So now I sit and… | /r/Divorce_Men | 01/08/24 01:05 PM
What am I entitled to in a cooperative divorce?Ok, thanks. I think it's pretty fair, and yes, she wants to avoid litigation. She makes enough that she will be very comfortable, and with the pension, the 401k is just extra for her. | /r/Divorce_Men | 17/07/24 06:52 PM

What am I entitled to in a cooperative divorce?Jeez bro, chill. This is just starting, not trying to be greedy, just asking for feedback. I make 80k, she makes 130k. Her pension is worth at least as much as the 401k, if not more. A friend who got divorced said I would be able to get $600 to $1000 per month in support until my daughter is 18 since we will have 50/50 custody. So in lieu of going after her pension and no monthly support, I thought a one-time disbursement would be the easier way to go, sever ties cleanly. | /r/Divorce_Men | 17/07/24 06:40 PM
