Just pointing out there is a lot of research suggesting that those who cave to influence are not just weak-minded, but are in fact being subject to the power of a bad situation. See Stanley milgram's research in the 40s/50s, and tons of other work all the way through contemporary work by Philip Zimbardo and tons of other folks. 1	Don't be THAT girl - 2 You're making good points; it is a very complex issue and although it should be as simple as some people are making it seem it just isn't. People here don't seem to understand gender or power dynamics and I don't understand why. Sure, there are some women who abuse the system - but that is just not as pervasive as men who apply unreasonable pressure to women. 1	Men asked to leave feminist film festival panel discussion. Yeah I think anyone would agree that was a pretty effed up thing to ask.
