On a societal basis, women are raised to be emotionally expressive https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2014/11/141112084500.htm Only men have to sign up for the draft, when the titanic sink it was women and children on the boats first, Ukrainian men are disallowed to flee Ukraine during Russian invasion. Yes it applies to all men, except certain disabled men, in the societies specified. There are plenty of studies that compare sentences per two categories, I'm not making it up. Black men also …

I can see why you don't have a girlfriend

Some people just aren't able to find the right person that's compatible to them. Women just have appropriate ways to deal with the emotional baggage of that bc they were raised that say

Probably bc it's fun and sex is enjoyable. I never had a ho phase but this is my guess

Privilege comes into play differently depending on the situation. If I'm fighting for custody or escaping a war torn country, then it's better off to be a woman. If I'm trying to be taken seriously in a professional setting or am single living in an area with high rates of sexual violence, it'd be easier as a man. Gender is interesting bc its not as cut and dry in terms of privilege. It sorta comes down to who makes the rules. It's been rich, nepotistic, reactionary men for the most part. If you…

It's not men that want to transition to female. It's women that were raised as men bc of the genitalia they were born with
/r/PurplePillDebate15/01/23 05:54 AM

That's super fair. A lot of women deal with these same feelings of cynicism and apathy. It's really not a gender thing imo. Current systems are put in place to make us miserable and get us to fight against each other. Youre correct, you're not very privileged. There are certain privileges for both genders. All said, I feel that this post was aimed at the men that deny any privilege from their side

Rights are what we decide people deserve. I was basing my statement off of the moral status quo and data about the benefits of autonomy. What makes them legitimate? Nothing, but humans evolved as a social species. Its in our best interest to continue that way. You can live in the woods and survive bears and people with guns if you want, I'm not stopping you. That last paragraph... What?? Having children is a biological function. According to biology and evolution, there's very little "irresponsi…

The natural direction of op's rhetoric is that way. He literally portrays wives as something given by society. Literal definition of objectification
/r/PurplePillDebate14/01/23 08:33 PM
43

Op, I'm all down for you to go against the "social contract". Men shouldn't have to ruin their bodies unless they want to. They should be valued and provided for as well. All that said, relationships aren't a right. They're an agreement between two autonomous people. That wife that you're meant to "get in exchange" is a human fucking being, just like you. You shouldn't have to give up your body, and women shouldn't have to give up their autonomy. We're on the same side, it's society that tells u…

As a chick, one of the biggest ones to me is that we are actually raised to feel emotions. While those emotions are often used against us, I still find that preferable to the mass repression of any and all emotions that men exhibit. They also feel more isolated bc of that repression of emotions and affection. And then like other people have probably said, men are seen as expendable in war or other life threatening emergencies, they're much less likely to win custody over they're kids, and they g…

I would likely be considered unattractive by your standards. I dont like muscular dudes. I like shy dudes that are huge fucking nerds. Height doesn't matter to me either. My boyfriend right now is 5'3", sorta skinny, an active chess player, and socially awkward. I love him.

It's negligible compared to the effect that capitalism has on our population growth. People aren't dating, marrying and reproducing as much bc they legitimately can't afford to

Cheating is done by immature people. In a mature, healthy, and communicative relationship, one half of the couple's potential attraction to someone else should be communicated and from there it can be a discussion as a couple. Some people value monogamy and will distance themselves from their crush, others will explore polyamory. It's personal preference. For myself, I would never cheat on my boyfriend, I respect him too much for that. And I have 100% trust that he wouldnt cheat on me bc he's si…

I find that the half your age + 7 works surprisingly well. 32/2+7=23. That age gap would work well enough to me because 23 is an almost fully developed brain, whereas a 19 year olds definitely is not.

I don't think that. I meant that they find a way to do it lol

We're literally dealing with inflation, a housing crisis, and police brutality all at once so I hope your first paragraph is a joke. And yeah I'll agree that there are gendered actions that we're raised with that make it difficult to communicate but this is not the fault of either gender specifically

My theory on why people can't find partners is increasing isolation, stress and a lack of spending money on both sides, the increased need to live with parents (making dating potentially uncomfortable), and a general lack of accessible safe places to meet new people This article helps to show that there is a problem of social isolation in young adults. https://psycnet.apa.org/fulltext/2020-41443-001.html This article does the same. https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S019188691…

Most people like having a partner, whether that means they want to raise a family is different. But I know very few people that want to remain strictly single

Genuine question, when you say "make their life about their man and kid" do you mean that literally. Where it's like housewife has dinner ready on the table at 5 on the dot? Bc if that's the case, then yeah, I might have issues with that. Otherwise, most of the women I know want to be in a relationship.

Capitalism is an issue bc of how the working class is expected to work. Anyways that paper says that based on pattern, men tend to prefer longer commute over lower pay and it's vice versa for women. What do you feel like this means?
/r/PurplePillDebate21/06/22 06:38 PM

If it's a historically high amount of men procreating, that's good right? Also polyamory might be a better suited word than polygamy as polygamy is often so related to mormonism

Yup

Where do you get the 1/5 from. Over 50% of men in the US procreate. https://www.census.gov/newsroom/press-releases/2019/mens-fertility.html

I get that concern. It is hard. I disagree though, if you know yourself, trust yourself, and are comfortable in your own body; those who reject you just aren't compatible to you

1) that is a literature review. Not surveyed or tested data. 2) it does not seem to be peer reviewed. Conference papers can have a specific intent behind them. 3) do you live in Indonesia or a similar country?

I date my boyfriend bc we balance each other's personalities. We don't follow gendered rules for dating and have a damn healthy relationship. I think your issue is with stuff beyond women

What do you feel that women require of men?
/r/PurplePillDebate20/06/22 10:33 PM

You almost got it but then sharp turn to pretend that women are have some insane level of freedom that men don't. This is a capitalism issue.

The issue here is capitalism, not women.

I like to approach this from a gender abolitionist standpoint. While there are differences in the sexes, these differences do not have to be the defining characteristics for genders either. Meaning I don't think men should HAVE TO protect. Men can be nurturing and thoughtful and creative. As can women. And vice versa. If you WANT to be a protector, there are women who want protected. And you should be valued for your protective attitude, as should women who are protective. Archaic gender roles a…

When I first went it was for "dealing with the stress of college" which was a much easier subject to approach. My first therapist wasn't great. But when I tried again, I had sorta already self-diagnosed myself with OCD so I was able to see my own dark thoughts a little differently by that time. And then with my second therapist, I wasn't sure about her the first few sessions, but after that it felt like she was asking the hard hitting questions but in a good way lol. It really lit a fire under m…
