That's an excellent point and I hate to generalize so thanks for calling it out. It's like with anything else where that deviant 5-10% gives and entire group/culture a bad reputation.

I was a bit surprised to see this article in /r/seduction because I think the emotional investment goes deeper than what most on here are looking for.

Definitely, not to mention he's coined a new phrase. I especially liked the part about people moving towards the interesting parts of their day, "if you're nearby, and she's not moving, chances are she's interested in something, you".

Great advice, it's a good starting point and with experience you broaden your spectrum. However, different types of humor have their own advantages and disadvantages as far as opening, building rapport, attraction, etc. But in my experience, if you can make a girl laugh, she's yours.

I use this religiously, and it works even when it doesn't. It's surprisingly original too, i feel like many girls don't hear it very often.

I feel like call-back humor is excellent for building rapport, especially when it involves the girl doing something silly/awkward or even making fun of yourself in a non-self-depricating way

I go out to loud bars on weekends frequently with 2 other friends. Due to the noise level, the places usually only permit having a conversation with the person right next to you by loudly talking into their ear. I can carry a light boring conversation but usually the women are drawn more to my friends and I get stuck with the leftovers (they're a few inches taller than me and apparently better looking). I don't have a problem speaking to the women, a lot of times it seems more like we're talking…

I also think that keeping the first dates short makes this seem a lot less threatening. The fact that you seem to present yourself as a loner and someone who isn't the most outgoing I'm sure many women don't find this suggestion too forward or strange.

"I wouldn't if you wanted me to!" is a good one, you're increasing your self value and making yourself a challenge to her, even if she was joking, now she'll really want you to come over.

For the worst of reasons, find a way to pretend to be comfortable and talk about attractive people things. Can you explain this? And yeah, working on confidence without the alcohol, it's a long but progressive journey. Little by little...

Voice is a big one, I feel like I'm getting better at the body language, but I think that my voice often communicated anxiety or discomfort. Any tips on fixing this besides practicing approaching?

TL;DR just for you - met an old friend, she's swarmed by her guy friends, end up meeting and making out with another girl on the dancefloor but after going out for a smoke she acts like she doesn't know me.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
