How do people afford housing?2014 Keystone Montana. I’m in Oregon. It’s got the extra big kitchen area. I’m paying her $2700/mo spousal support/cs so this is my only real option for living without roommates. Truth is I actually enjoy living in the trailer more than I did the house we had. The small space encourages me to get out and exercise and work on projects. I have access to the shop adjacent to the trailer and I’m 75% done building a Lotus 7 race car. Trailer life has been good for me. | /r/Divorce_Men | 14/06/23 03:58 PM
How do people afford housing? It ended up being the right situation for me. Family had land and needed help maintaining their property. | /r/Divorce_Men | 14/06/23 02:43 PM
How do people afford housing?Family members had land and are kind enough to let me stay there if I help out with property maintenance. Dug a trench and made leech line for gray water. Currently using their bathroom for black water needs. Might install a mini septic tank in the future. Trailer is next a large workshop, so I have good power supply. | /r/Divorce_Men | 14/06/23 02:41 PM
How do people afford housing?I bought a used but excellent 36’ 5th wheel trailer to live out the alimony years. Kids think it’s cool. Like camping every weekend. )120k new. I bought used for $20k. | /r/Divorce_Men | 14/06/23 05:20 AM
What are some green flags for picking a future wife? What other choices would you make that there’s a 50% chance that you could lose half of what you have? Marriage is high risk and little gain. Try BASE jumping if you need risk/thrill in your life. | /r/Divorce_Men | 03/10/22 02:24 AM
Better to do it now or wait?I’m going to talk to an attorney. I’ll discuss this option. It is something I could do. But I keep hearing it goes off your last W2 and there’s no accounting for overtime. In which case I’ll be a slave for years. | /r/Divorce_Men | 22/06/20 02:31 AM
Better to do it now or wait?Perfect. This is exactly the advise I need. I have no idea how this stuff works. | /r/Divorce_Men | 22/06/20 02:27 AM
Better to do it now or wait? Thanks. Right at the 9 year mark. I should contact an attorney. She is going to come after the money with everything she can. She’s threatened that before when I talked with her about splitting up. Said she would financially ruin me and tell my family, friends and coworkers that I’m abusive(I’m not) if I left. | /r/Divorce_Men | 22/06/20 02:17 AM
Better to do it now or wait? Thanks. I keep thinking another home value. No guarantee the market will stay up in a few years. She’d end up with the home and have to cash me out. Perhaps one day I’ll look at this as a ‘practice marriage’ when/if I find a worthwhile relationship. | /r/Divorce_Men | 22/06/20 12:32 AM
Better to do it now or wait?I think you’re right. I’ve been waiting the last 6 years thinking things will improve in the relationship. That time has only worsened the financial liability for me. I’ll schedule a meeting with an attorney to get some consultation on what to expect. I truly have no idea what to do regarding a divorce. | /r/Divorce_Men | 22/06/20 12:14 AM
