Oh I fully expected to be down voted by that comment, but nice to see that there are "others" out there. Seems like there are hardly any independent thinkers out there anymore. Everyone's picking sides nowadays.

Who said I was upset?

Not deterministic but you can't argue that there is no escaping influence.

I've noticed this. It's annoying. Nobody thinks in grey anymore, just black and white.

Sometimes very competent people have no confidence and sometimes very incompetent people have lots of confidence. Confidence isn't necessarily correlated to competence, in other words.

Milo does that all the time...I guess you just don't like studies that don't confirm your biases?

The old study is old, is your argument, but you didn't present a study of your own.

This is anecdotal evidence. It's also possible she wanted to be more like you, her father.

Everyone is influenced. Boys are influenced in one some ways and girls in another. This isn't a lie or an exaggeration. Because of that influence, boys and girls may decide to make different decisions. You're influenced, I'm influenced, we're ALL influenced in some way and a lot of what we have today is the result of some kind of influence. No one exists in a vacuum.

You're being down voted, but don't be discouraged. You're completely right.

He didn't say that he wanted to force girls into doing something, did he?

It's not everyone's "problem." But it's a reality and we should accept reality. What we want to do about it is another question entirely.

I didn't see Milo address her points directly. If he did, I would agree that this belongs in this sub Reddit. Disagreeing with bitchy attitudes is one thing but the woman he was debating in this video made some good points. Not everything is us vs them, or black and white. Bring on the down votes. Edit: They're basically arguing past each other and not addressing each other's points (which are both valid).

She was saying that girls are less confident which influences their competence, not equating the two.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
