Man-bashing "because they can" with no fear of comeback. Women believing they are entitled to the best of treatment regardless. Saying whatever they want with no regard for others. Banging on about oppression and misogyny at every opportunity. Some of these would be toxic whoever is doing it, but it seems to only be women doing it.

It's great that there are people like Bettina speaking out about these issues that are solely affecting men. She is very vocal and has the benefit of being respected in her field. However, it is a crying shame that these people are needed. Men and boys shouldn't be finding themselves in these positions in the first place.

I believe Chinese culture (and maybe law?) means that boys have to look after their parents when they get older, whereas there is no such expectation for girls (I assume as they would marry and so look after their husband's parents). This is why they traditionally wanted boys and not girls, as otherwise they would put in all the work and expenditure bringing them up, only for someone else to benefit.

I agree with your comments - initially feminism was about gaining equal rights under law for women and equal opportunities compared to men. This is the single biggest thing that is wrong with our society right now. It is so fucked up. These women make me ashamed to be female. If this happens to a man, his life is over. He then has to listen to it being mocked and joked about by everyone who thinks it's completely acceptable. People's lives have literally been ruined by this sort of thinking and attitude. I thought this was an interesting article. Feminism is constantly touted as the way forward, as a reason for all the man-bashing, man-hating. Women are encouraged to act in a new way, to be more "male" (although it feels like they act more like teenage boys than men!). Be independent, be vulgar, be promiscuous, because otherwise you're oppressed. However, I don't see lots of happy women. I don't see society being better. I see a lot of unhappy people, men and women. It doesn't seem to be changin…

It's sad that we can't make another person feel good about themselves without it being turned into a negative. For example, I have a colleague at work who has put in a lot of work to lose weight. So when I see him, I'll say he looks great, because it's an acknowledgement of the hard work he's put in, not because I fancy him.

I have a husband who feels very strongly about men's issues and I can see how deeply he has been affected by them. This has led me to explore more, find out about others' experiences, form my own opinions about what's happening. I also have a teenage son. It's very worrying, seeing the world he is growing up in.

While this might appear to be accurate, in the UK it is still not legally possible for a woman to rape, due to the legal definition of the law. It is sexual assault which carries a much lower sentence. That being said, it is still good to get people thinking about rape in genderless terms. As long as that is what happens!

Just so I have this right.... The mother and father split before she has the baby, he files for divorce. She has the baby, doesn't inform him and surrenders the child at the hospital. The church adoption agency places the child with a family and puts a very vague notice in the paper to say the parents have 28 days to change their mind. I don't believe it would happen, but if it did, I agree there would need to be an application process for reversals. You would have to apply to be given the chance to reproduce, which of course means there would be criteria to be approved. It's just a way of prettying up eugenics. They can pick and choose who gets to populate the gene pool.

Yes, I am a woman irl 😊. The problem is that these messages are being spread by literally everything now. They're in education, in government, in the media, in TV shows - you name it! The entire societal system is set up to talk down about men, to encourage casual violence and generally to make men feel as shit as possible about themselves. How do you stand up against all of that?

I think that with all the support and inclusion around the LGBT movement now, it can offer lonely youngsters a tribe. Most people just want to fit in somewhere. I have absolutely nothing against people in that community, but I can't help that feel some people identify as a member just to feel included (as in this case). It's sad and troubling at the same time. We seem to have an obsession with assigning labels to everyone at the moment and everyone must have one.

Considering that murder-suicides account for less than 0.5% of all suicides in England and Wales (based on an average 23 murder-suicides annually), to call all suicidal men dangerous is appalling. This is just another tactic to demonise men and draw our attention away from the real question: why are these men killing themselves and what could drive them to sometimes take someone else with them? What hope do men have when even suicide can lead to them being labelled as predators?

Another thing people find it ok to joke about is hair loss. This can really affect a man's confidence. My husband shaves his head, not because he's balding but because he has alopecia. But he's had to put up with people making comments about his hair (or lack of) for years. He finds it very hurtful.
