10	How does not wanting to date a rape victim make someone an asshole? First of all, you're mixing me up with another commenter. I never said I was a rape victim. I also never said I wasn't. Second of all, people talk about things that didn't ruin/break/tarnish them ~forever~. Like, my house was robbed. I had perfume stolen from my bag one time. One time I got in a fight in middle school. One time I bought a book and then I left it accidentally in the mall food court :(. 18	How does not wanting to date a rape victim make someone an asshole? See, the thing is that I'm a human being, not a car. Rape can happen to anybody at any time. It could happen to YOU tomorrow, or to a woman you have been dating who wasn't previously a victim. It's a thing that happens, and it sucks, and some people are very damaged by it, but others move on past it. I think a big part of the trauma that comes with rape or sexual assault comes from the cultural idea that rape is just SO traumatic and it ruins you. There is a fantastic article about that here.
