Sorry was at work. For period dramas my favorites are North and South (the British mini series), Anne of Green Gables (the original movies), Emma, Pride and Prejudice. As for Kdramas... The ones that had everyone excited this year were Crash Landing on You and It's Okay Not To Be Okay. My personal faves are Scarlet Heart Ryeo and Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms (Chinese fantasy--requires a lot of suspension of belief but the male lead..... I don't watch too many shows these days but I have developed a great love for Korean and Asian dramas in general. They have this stuff in Spades if you're willing to read subtitles. The other place you'll find this is in period dramas. If you're interested in these I'd be happy to provide recommendations based on your preferences

Ooh... Depending on what genre you enjoy, I like me some Laura Mvula (Show Me Love is super feminine and has some RPW themes), India Arie, Lianne LaHavas, Ingrid Michaelson, Laura Marling, Regina Spektor, Vanessa Carlton, Diane Birch, Norah Jones, Yuna and Jill Scott. I also like Jhené Aiko as has already been mentioned.
